Michigan St coach contract

Nov 20, 2021, 8:51 PM

Extension is laughable. In his second season as their head coach is going to receive a supposedly 10 year 95 million dollar contract. Went 2-5 last year and now 9-2 after being totally dismantled by ohcry o st. Sure they will be regretting that in a couple years. The money being thrown around in college football with suck little track record of success is absurd.

I agree. I don’t believe on his small sample size that

He’s worth paying that much for.

The real winners of the agents for the coaches. If you’re an agent for a coach in the SEC you are laughing all the way to the bank. Guaranteed contracts. Tens of millions. There are at least six teams in the SEC that demand 10 or more wins per year. These teams play each other. I can’t wait till they add Texas and Oklahoma and they’ll have eight teams that are expecting 10 wins or more per year.

Yeah, I was shaking my head about that. I heard the news on multiple radio shows. No one indicated that he was worth it. The talking points were that there were multiple head coaches (not named Nick Sabin) that had way better resumes, and that their agents would be heating up the phones.

I hope this dud game by MSU quells that. My guess is that the MSU AD is so worried about losing another coach to the SEC that he panicked.

I think the coach that has some real pondering to do is Fickle. Bearcats have a 3rd/maybe 4th year starter at QB. So there offense is running as well as it gets. Because of their conference, they have to be absolutely perfect for a chance at a national championship, and hope for some carnage (3 of the 5 the leagues will have a 2 loss champion this year). So in effect this is probably as good as it gets. I know the bearcats played UGA well last year. But in my opinion there is no way they beat both OSU and UGA for the championship.

So does he stay comfortable with Cinc., or does he go for the money?
