he's retiring from the Air Force/Marines on Monday. (he said he was in both)

They are letting him do all the flyovers this weekend for his "last mission" before officially hanging it up. Pretty cool.

I would assume they'll honor him at the game during some timeout.

Fighter pilot to make farewell flight over Bowman Field, where
he was commissioned
David Hood · Senior Writer · 1 day ago

One of our nation’s brightest and best fighter pilots is coming home, and
will take his retirement flight in his F/A-18 C Friday over Bowman Field,
the very field where he was commissioned two decades ago.

Major Jeff Butler (Clemson,’05) will fly one of two F/A-18s that will flyover
the central part of campus for the First Friday parade and the men’s home
soccer game. The flight will serve as Butler’s farewell flight (he also works
for Delta) in the F/A-18. His current squadron is the VMFA-112 “Cowboys”
out of Fort Worth, Texas.

Butler has served on six deployments - (2x Iraq / 4x Japan through Unit
Deployment Program) and his list of awards includes the Air Medal
Strike/Flight, multiple Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals.
Marine Division Tactics Course Graduate (Marine Corps' equivalent to "Top
Gun"), and is a Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course Graduate.
He also served as a Forward Air Controller with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines
and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The flyover for the LSU game was snatched up by a unit from Louisiana,
but when Clemson Corps Board Member Trey Kennedy reached out to see
if Butler was interested in flying on First Friday, he said yes.
