We just need to do away with conference championships now

The Selection Committee Chairman just said it's more about the total resume than a conference champion. Ohio State and Michigan can both play in the playoff if Clemson or Washington loses, and neither OSU or UM have to play the extra game! The winner of the Big 10 championship game will not get in. So what's the point? If our season ended now then we are in. Now we have an extra game in which we can't improve anything. We can only knock ourselves out! Am I missing something here?

they get an extra week of rest and healing and NO risk of injury to players, some of which could be key! Incredible.

What were you expecting? If you really want to remove that

aspect of it you have to turn it over 100% to computer models. And i doubt you would want that. Michigan is still #2 in most computer models. The top 4 right now would be Bama, Mich, OSU, Clemson.

Yeah, this is BS. They need to expand it to 8 teams too.

The only solution is 16 teams, 10 P5 division winners top group of 5 and next 5 teams. Play 1st round at home of top 8 instead of Conf Championships. 4 & 2 games at top bowl sites after Christmas & New Years then NC 2 weeks later. Maybe cut 12th game during the season as playoff game revenue could make up difference.

8 isn't a good solution? 16 is just too many games

They would have to do away with the 12th game and maybe also conference title games to do that.

Totally agree. It's all about $. They want those big ten and sec dollars. OSU, Mich, Bama, bring more $ than Clemson and Wash. Conferences will keep championships because of $ however they don't mean a hill of beans apparently.

It does suck we have to go out and run the risk of losing and getting screwed. All the while they sit and watch, especially osu, sounds like their in.

Maybe the CFP should have a new rule. If two teams from

the same conference are ranked in the top ten, but are not in their CCG, then they should have to play each other, on conference championship game day, for a chance to possibly play themselves in.
I almost hope Washington gets beat, just to see what the committee does with the B10 teams.

Based on what Kirby Hocutt said you would think Michigan would get in. He said the committee sees the difference between Washington and Michigan is razor thin. If that's the case I see Michigan sliding in if Clemson or Washington lose. Even though Michigan lost 2 of the last 3, and one loss to unranked Iowa. Not to mention they don't even have to play this week. The whole system is garbage!
