Mark Fields is ours to lose

Jan 16, 2015, 1:10 AM

Everything I'm hearing out of Charlotte, he is ALL OURS and he is ALL IN. STUD!!! Everyone outside of our fans were predicting these stupid protest would sway him. Glad he looked past the whole protest thing...so silly.

That last spot is his if he wants it.

I think we can take him and Orr if he wants to commit. I think Johnson is probably a fall back, but who knows what kind of magic the staff can work.

Denzel is not a fall back. Dabo loves him.

Love him or not, if you only haver two slots, youre going to give one to Johnson over Orr? Not sure about that.

One spot left for cornerback. Johnson is viewed as Wr or safety

My understanding was we had two total spots left. Hold on, Dabo is calling me to ask my advice. lol

Yes two spots maybe three but I know they are taking only one more cb.

I'm thinking Dabo will also use him as a return specialist. Imagine having someone return punts that could actually put fear in the opponent!

We have 1 guy already who could be that return guy (A.Scott) and Ray Ray ...well he just good.

Not sure he'll start as a Freshman but man, I can't even imagine how good our D would be if we had him and Mackensie on the field at the same time.

If he doesn't start at the beginning of the year, I suspect he'll be the starter by mid year.

SOLID LOCK ON FIELDS!!!! Not sure about starting/not starting/redshirting but HE IS 100% ALL IN. Love stealing one from the coots because the old ball sack dumped where he eats.

There will be some type of attrition before everything is settled. I am sure the staff could take all 3 of these guys ...and possibly a surpriser.

Its that "surpriser" that has me intrigued. Sure wish it was the big OL out of Maryland, Isaiah Prince. Maryland is the fav since he lives right down the street.

The way the staff has continued to recruit

Jan 17, 2015, 9:00 AM [ in reply to Re: Mark Fields is ours to lose ]

even with only 1 to 2 spots left indicates pretty strongly that they know of someone leaving. My guess is some players that may have already graduated may not be coming back opening up an extra spot or 2.

I do know if coach reed has his way Clemson would bring in fields and Orr. Heard that from a good source, but dabo is intrigued with DJ. Not saying DJ won't be good but when it comes to viewing DB talent I trust mike reed a little more.

thought dj was a take at wr, not db?***

ThAts the think some articles are saying DB and some WR. 247 insider just told me wr so I have no idea. Nobody truly knows until he hits the field. Viewing Denzel tape and in person I like him better as a wr. With the talent coming in and what we are recruiting he's gonna have to grind hard to see the field at wr but all the wrs are and that's a great thing. Fields I don't think is ready to start and some say he may redshirt and that would be awesome to redshirt a talent like that but don't think he comes here to RS but we will see. I think Orr is gonna be really good. I'd take both Orr and fields on defense and DJ at wr

Safety is where he projects long-term. He actually has great instincts on D and can lay the wood.

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1252680/highlights/221021377

If we any sort of injury or attrition at WR he'd likely be the guy to make the switch over.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

interesting, even that video says denzel johnson, #8 wr.

Jan 17, 2015, 12:52 PM

although i've heard safety could be a destination, i've seen it the other way around that wr is where he'll start. rivals, scout on his visit to ncst & clemson and espn all list wr, whatever those sites could mean.

really, idc. if he can help the team on and off the field, that's all that matters to me. i have seen some "worry" he might be a take at cb over orr or fields, which i have not seen even though that film also mentions cb on the page.

DJ commitment will have no affect on fields but fields probably affects Orr though. Would be nice to get Orr as well but we are sitting good with some good DBS in 2016. Especially saivion smith and Robbie Robinson. Robison has amazing cover skills and if he was bigger he'd be knocking on 5* door. Plus you have them late bloomers next class as well. Korey Charles is another safety recruit who is very high on us. It's gonna all work out for Clemson we are primed for another great class. Robbie is coming to junior day!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

1 corner back, that's what i keep hearing. fields seems to

Jan 17, 2015, 1:02 PM

have first shot and yeps, i understood djohnson would not affect that one spot.

thanks for the info; i appreciate everyones insight. i don't follow "that" closely and enjoy opening all the "presents" after the signing period is complete.

;)
