This could be the BEST thing to happen for this program at this point in time. This could force a FULL reset that may or may not include Dabo taking a hard look in the mirror and asking himself if he wants to “get on board” w/ the new way or not. For 5 years now we’ve been “just good enough” for Dabo to sell a false bill of goods in this horrendous conference.
For the last 5 years you orange colored glassed Dabo fans have been blinded by your own coach. You’ve been tricked each year since 2021 into thinking we were still “elite”.

2021 was passed off as some “fluke” off year.

2022 was passed off as some “successful” season b/c we won a pathetic conference beating a 5-UNC team for the ACC yet beat NOBODY in the OOC games…….0-3

2023 was an abhorrent 4-loss season propped up by a back against the wall win vs ND and some wins against a pathetic South Carolina and Kentucky team……yet again, not showing any signs of “elite”.

2024 was essentially a duplicate of 2022 going 0-3 in the P4 OOC games and backing into another crappy conference championship game and was afforded the ability to claim “greatness” b/c we made the new rules 12-team playoff.

2025 this season should come as no surprise to those of us who didn’t have their head in the sand…….the extent of our atrociousness may have come as a bit of a surprise, but this program has been so far from an ELITE level that anyone who expected a national title run was kidding themselves.

So………Here we are in what may be the BEST possible situation for our program and/or Dabo (if he chooses to) to hit RESET and realize that all the calls for him to change over the last 5 years were 100% correct in how Dabo has to “CHANGE THE WAY HE RUNS THE PROGRAM”!! Because we can see the BIG PICTURE and are not BLINDED by Dabo’s sunshine filled outlook of what our program IS…………..should be interesting to watch, hopefully the “getting worse to get better has already begun”

I was thinking the same. What would Dabo

be doing if the PI call went our way? He would have danced in the locker room, be talking about how great the offense has turned around, be talking about having the momentum and winning the remaining games, and talking about a couple of mistakes that need to be fixed.

Agree, but with his track record, contract and buyout

Dabo is sitting on a royal flush, and he wins whether we foldout stay in. I just don’t see him changing at this stage of his career.

If he drives the program into the ground, and makes the university fire him, couldn’t he collect $57 million and get out of this coaching thing? It’s obvious that he does not want recruiting to be year long, having to shop in the transfer portal nor worry about NIL. I think you’re right with the royal flush analogy.

Agree. Unfortunately, that is what it will take to force needed change!***

I find it hard to believe Dabo can find much joy in the current era of college football. Of course, the huge paycheck is a pretty good reason to stay in it, but this current cfb landscape is not one that his personality and values are well suited for, and I'm not really talking about his ability to thrive from a wins and losses standpoint. I'm talking about just the actual process of being the HC these days and whether he can really enjoy what it takes now day in and day out. Of course, that mismatch also predictably leads to the product on the field.
