There’s a post on 11W about 31 reasons they’ll beat us, and five of them are how each Receiver will blow by Tanner. And the comments absolutely mock him.
No one is saying that Tanner is perfect but he is better than that. I sure
Would love to see him pick off Fields early. I think it would blow their minds.

Im trying to figure why he is wrong here? Muse is absolutely a complete liability in coverage...Our coaches know it and so does theirs...Ohio State will attack him and create mismatches for him...Its been done the past few seasons and it wont all of a sudden change...

Virginia caught him early but then BV changed up the coverage to more zone read. My uneducated guess is that is what we will throw more of at them. Cover two might show but it will change post snap....

He is not the best in coverage, but he is definitely well above average. He is top tier in run support. He is a solid player.

And has four picks while playing on a team that ranks first...FIRST...in the country in passing defense. You’d think if it was so easy to throw on Muse that Ohio State has five guys who are going to blow right by him, that other opponents might have noticed his rusted hips and cement cleats.
Like I said, he’s not the best in coverage but this idea that he’s awful seems absurd.
Anyway, I guess we shall see on Saturday.

Fans here would say the same thing if Ohio State had a safety like Muse.
I'm not worried about it because CBV will scheme to avoid having Muse singled up on a speedy receiver. If it somehow happens, Muse will play it safe and not bite on a fake.

they do have a safety like tanner.
they use pete werner (6-3 240) as their strong safety sometimes, just like we use tanner...

Werner has played maybe 10 snaps all year at safety, that's less than 1 a game. He only moves up high to safety where they run a zone blitz (DE replaces Werner, Werner replaces Fuller, Fuller replaces Wade, Wade blitzes)

why is brendon white transferring then? why do they list him as a starter at SS then when he hasn't played in the last three games? who do they play actually play at ss? according to eleven warriors, it's pete werner...

We played a better passing QB in Tua last year and better receivers and they weren't able to pick on Muse. Don't think it's much of a concern in this game either.
This game will be determined by us forcing Fields to try and beat us with his arm....and I don't believe he can. Shut down their run game and we win going away. They dictate the game by running all over us and it'll be a tough game.

This is the key and BV knows it.
If Fields can beat us with his arm and his head, then so be it, but if i had to bet on the contest between a first year QB and a BV defense - well that's an easy one.

Tanner has had a really good year. Bad game against UVA and one bad play against the #####.
It seems he has most of his picks in zone coverage. You are not going to beat DK or AJ in man coverage, so you have to try and pick on someone else.
I predict that either Muse, Wallace or Turner will be on the receiving end of Mr. Fields second pick for that reason.
