Gravely Mowers. Thoughts?

Apr 21, 2022, 5:45 PM

Always have heard good thi bc a. Then recently read some complaints about vibration in the decks/being loud. Salesman says he owns one and say yes it’s there but in his opinion is like your car rattling. Some people are super sensitive and some people it won’t bother. I mow about 8 acres I think it is. Once every two weeks. Relatively rough acreage except sod right around the house. He was tying to talk me into a pro 260. Would be 11k which is a lot of mula but would probably actually be a good machine and quick and sturdy.

I don't about OL but Mike Gravely could play LB for the Tigers during the Red Parker years.

Check out the bad boy mowers before you make a decision. Great mower owned one for 3 years now. I keep about 3 acres cut, get's the job done in no time.

The rattle and vibration is real and to be honest the slight motion sickness I got I always thought was from the excessive vibration but you do get used to it after about a season or two. No real complaints about the Gravely and no real maintenance issues either. We changed the belts once after 8 years and that was preventative maintenance. I will tell you the new toros are expensive but not $11,000 and it has been a flat out workhorse for us at church where we mow 6 to 7 acres once a week almost 8 months out of the year.

According to all the on line help I see you can actually use preventive or preventative as they mean the same and are both adjectives, but I will admit since I am born and raised here in South Carolina I meant preventive so thanks.

Nothing beats an exmark. Do your research, not tigernet. But best you can buy, bad boy second. I assume your looking for a zero turn. I do about same amount of acreage, had same exmark since 2006. My only regret is that I didn't buy a bigger one. Mine is 56".
