Does anyone else just cringe when they read these updates?

Mar 30, 2022, 8:37 PM

We’ve got to get past this injury bug.

I cringed when I saw the two interceptions and the pick six myself.

The injuries are worrisome. Hopefully they will be able to field two teams for the Spring Game.

I cringed when I saw Mickey Conn was excited. It sounds like the offense is about the same. I guess 12/20 is ok for DJ but it’s still on the low side IMO. Certainly it’s better than 50% but there was no praise for the offense. I didn’t see any mention of any TDs

Guess we will get to see it live on the 9th

Conn said D got beat on crush route at 4 so presumably a TD.***

No, you're not the only one...the last year or so the injury

Mar 30, 2022, 9:14 PM [ in reply to Does anyone else just cringe when they read these updates? ]

bugs have really thrived and multiplied. Maybe it's karma? I remember a couple years ago thinking we've really been lucky with key players staying healthy and very few serious injuries. Now it's just the opposite...

A drunk will run a STOP sign, but a stoner will wait for it to turn green.

Need more chocolatey osterine.

Sounds like the Tigers need a Red Cross instead of a PAW

on their helmets...is conditioning or bad luck to blame???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

In my opinion it’s “Manliness”***

12-20 and a pick six..doesnt sound like a decent day

Mar 30, 2022, 10:35 PM

sounds like more of the same from dj

Yup. Last preseason, all we heard was how the “defense was ahead of the offense,” and weren’t sure if that meant the defense was really good or that the offense was just bad. And then we saw that both were true … and with it came those disastrous pick-sixes vs Georgia and Pitt. They are missing some key parts on offense this spring, but it ALL starts with the QB. And those numbers are not encouraging.

I thought the same when I first read it, but I did see where Beaux Collins was out, which is DJ's go to receiver. If I were DJ I would get with all second and third string WR and develop good timing/chemistry, because he did not do that, from what I hear, last summer and if Spring is any indication of injury's and DJ starts, then he has to develop chemistry with all receivers or it could be the CK show. As of the first 2 years it appears adapting on the fly is not DJ's strong suit.

12-20 & a pick-six with walk-on LB's at corner?

Mar 31, 2022, 1:54 AM

Unsure of the bar if that is now considered a "decent day". Were there 5-6 TD passes?

Sounds like 2022 could be 2021 2.0.

Well if the offense sucks with the defense using a walk on LB at CB you can bet it'll suck when we play a real defense. Gonna be another frustrating season if things don't change.

So a defense riddled with injuries and illness, playing walkons in various positions, had 2 INT including a pick 6 against DJU? Seems about right based on last year's play.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I know it's just a spring scrimmage but dang

Mar 31, 2022, 10:31 AM

This update is pretty depressing. 12-20 and a pick six? If that's "decent" I'd hate to see him play what you'd call "bad".

And what the heck is going on injury-wise? Was there a change in the conditioning sometime last year? We went through crazy attrition last season but they're not even really playing now and getting hurt. Do they even have enough to field two teams for a spring game at this point??

What happened to us targeting a CB in the transfer portal? There has to be a rotation guy out there that sees the great opportunity here. Put out the help wanted sign.
