Its an experience unlike any other for visiting fans. This Louisville fan sees why we all love Clemson so much.

I was so frustrated, but all I saw was kids running around and people chatting and having a great time. People watching the other games on huge TVs. The band marched around the tailgate areas playing "Tiger Rag". It was such a beautiful Carolina night, just perfect for hanging out and partying. You can't be mad at them for beating you, they are just too nice. It was awesome. I will be back every year, and will stay longer next time.

Don't know how you came in or how you left, but we drove in between 11:30 and noon and pretty much drove into a tailgate area un impeded, we were parked at one of the general parking lots, which were free parking by the way, it was probably a 20-25 minute walk from the stadium, after the game we waked back to the car, got right out of the lot onto 93 and we were on our way, out of town.
I wouldn't say our traffic situation at PJCS is ideal by any stretch of the imagination, where we park is less than a mile from I-65 and if we have a close game and everyone stays to the end it takes an hour and a half to get out.
Clemson is the best road game experience I've ever had and it's not even close.

cardsf...eofGod New Poster, Show Me Love Post #13 MyFanPage Add Buddy Ignore Re: To anyone ever considering going to a Clemson game Reply Other than my seat location, and our pathetic offense, I can't say enough good things about the trip. The Clemson fans were awesome. The atmosphere was second to none. They take tailgating to a whole new level! It was AWESOME trip. I will definitely go next time.
**FYI** I have to think a big reason the fans were awesome was they did NOT sell alcohol in the stadium. I'm sure they drank plenty while tailgating, but I love the fact they don't sell beer in the stadium. It kept people in their seats actually watching the game. go figure.

Great and True observations about pre-game activities and traditions. And how about the beauty of the slightly rolling terrain. Wow. I can add one thing: I never heard a foul word from anyone. And I heard very little smack talk. The Pledge of Allegiance was fantastic. Also, we saw many Clemson fans leaving our hotel on GameDay at 7:30 AM for the 3:30 PM game. The difference in behavior between a small southern college town (with not much else to do on a fall saturday) with only one main rooting interest from that of a large diverse city (with lots to do) with two main rooting interests is huge. In Clemson on 6 or 7 weekends a year, the whole weekend is all about football. In Louisville the 30,000 'hardcore' fans carve out one hour before and after, plus the game itself, and then get the heck out of Dodge and go back to the myriad other things they do on weekends. The football experience difference is striking -- Clemson: 24 hours of Football immersion for 81,000 fans ; Louisville: 5 hours of Football immersion for 50,000 fans. The difference in intensity is absolutely striking!
It is a great experience, and so consistent with those at all the medium/small town southern campuses.
The same football intensity cannot be seen at the big metro universities -- too many other diversions.

Louieville Fans are the Best..and why did we put uP with MD?

So long..since I hated to go onto their campus & into that stadium..Just b/c of their attitude & unwelcoming manners! Plus, Louieville has better fans, scenic terrain, great museums, a river, BBQ, music & the Slugger plant/museum tOO!
GoTiGERs & Welcome UofL to the ACC!

Let's invite this ESPN guy who has been making fun of us about storming the field. Maybe he would get it then - or maybe not

I'm sure it wasn't meant as "a dig" against Clemson but this is PRECISELY the difference....it's the mindset. What exactly would one to do "in the big city" on a Saturday. Is he saying that Louisville fans like to attend the ballet or go to an art gallery right before or after the game? Daggum, you've got 6 Saturday's a year to take it all in so why would you want to water down the experience by spending part of your day going to the museum. I guess I'll never "get them" and they'll never "get us". Nice complement though...

Have to agree with you ClemBert. The outdoor activities close to Clemson is astounding and Greenville is 45min away for those needing the metro experience. (Not bringing up Anderson that is not a one stoplight town) Clearly the author was trying to downplay the fact the PAW NATION brings the thunder to the Valley. I believe the Cards got a good dose of it this past weekend.

Clemson university and the city hold like 304?
The majority of the fans are driving hours (from thier big cities) to get to that small town.
The passion and love for Clemson brings us back.

Having lived in major cities, its not so much the "ballet and art show" as it is the mindset.
In an atmosphere like that they do develop a "city go fast" attitude, regardless of what or how much they are doing.
Of course, in the south, we tend to slow things down a bit.
Ain't in no hurry.
That's why those "city go fast" folks loved it in Clemson so much this past weekend. They took the time to enjoy it.
