Not sure any of the teams in the Top 4 can score with us

If our Defense is what it's been most of the year (without one-sided officiating) and we keep the Turnovers to 2 or less, I don't think Bama, tOSU, or Mich can stay with us. I think all 3 teams are limited from a passing standpoint, which would cause them to struggle to keep pace with us on the scoreboard.

I don't have much confidence in our offense, for 2 reasons:

1. We haven't held onto the ball against quality teams. We can't lose the turnover margin against a playoff team and expect to win. 2. Our coaches have this sick obsession with running the ball, even against top run defenses when it isn't working. This is a huge reason why we lost the Pitt game.
Against a defense like Alabama's, I am not convinced that we will be careful with the ball AND that we will not waste downs trying to run up the middle. If we fix both #1 and #2, then I agree, we will beat whomever we play and have our first football national championship since 1982.

JK we passed 70 times against Pitt. 70. They completely sold out to stop the run. But all we really needed to do was go fast after quick passes and hand it to Gallman once each set of downs to keep them honest but we call timeouts and out coach ourselves with sweeps and three freshman olineman in at the time.

Right, and if we had passed 71 or 72 times against Pitt

we would have won. No way they could have stopped us on both 3rd and 1 AND 4th and 1 if we had faked a handoff up the middle and rolled Deshaun out to either run or pass. Something quick over the middle or in the flat to Leggett or Scott would have worked well.
I realize that hindsight is 20/20, but I just didn't think it made sense to run on them at that point when they had stopped our runs all game but not our passes.

But we ran on the two most crucial plays of the game.

interesting that we give up 45 and 43 to Bama and Pitt

but people still don't recognize that this D has serious deficiencies
and we've made our name playing really bad Offenses: BC, Wake, NCSU, Auburn at the time, etc.
We lost better players than we replaced with this year,
and we still can't cover the TE or back out of the backfield.
We'll make other CFP teams' Offenses look better than they are.
Pitt... freakin' Pitt.

Pitt averages more ppg than we do. They have a legitimate offense. Our defense has held their own against some pretty decent offenses (Syracuse and Auburn come to mind)

No one is gonna effectively run the ball on bama....and their D line will stay in the back field on passing plays.......
