Headed to SE Iowa first week of November. Went in 2012 - it had been a brutal 3 years waiting on another tag.

Since we're hunting tonight I'm headed to South Dakota on the 2nd of may to hunt Merriams. That will finish out my grand slam.

Bought my first preference point for Iowa last year. Been to Illinois for the last 10 years. Lookin for a change of scenery. Haha

Did the Merriams hunt out there a few years back. They have all of the looks and none of the brains. My group of 4 guys went 12 for 12 on a SD/WY combo hunt and never called in a bird. Roosting in same tree every night really simplifies everything!

Yup. Hunting in SC has never been the same after I started Goin to Illinois. Have to make myself go some mornings here. Just not the same.

I've read that about the merraims. Had a buddy that went out there and he said all you gotta do is keep em interested. He said find trees and the bird will be there. He said good luck finding a tree. Lol

I you hunt here in SC or In the SE forget everything you know. Huntin can be a little different out there. Lol.

I'll be Elk hunting in Colorado this year, but then again, I live out here so I imagine that is a little different.

if they would move clemson to co., i would spend the rest of my days there. still got some nice pic.'s of some big game from a trip up into the rocky mtn. national park.
