TNET Logic......

Aug 14, 2013, 1:47 PM

It is classless to have an offensive sign at gameday... and it will embarrass the school... but it is not classless to beat up someone because of an offensive sign, and a group beat down during gameday wont embarrass Clemson.... great logic. FYI It's easy to threaten beating up someone on the internet...

Secondly, I am stupid/ Clemson lowered their requirements because of my sign idea... Please explain how my lack of supposed moral consciousness is a direct reflection of my intelligence. Jeffrey Skilling was far from stupid, but lacked "moral consciousness." There are a lot of successful people that are intelligent, but lack tnet's moral consciousness. I would go as far as saying it is ignorant to imply my education has a direct correlation with my moral code. (I have a moral code btw...I care about animals and volunteer at my local animal shelter...It's people that i don't have the sympathy for.)

Thirdly, I pay for my college on my dime while working a great job. I can assure you that I have to work much harder than the average college student. The Clemson curriculum is much less stressful than the stress of paying for school. When I graduate from Clemson in December I will also be more proud of myself than most students due to the work. As for the coot comments, I will be happy to tmail you a copy of my student ID if you like...

Question for yall.

What is offensive about my sign? Lattimore was able to leave college early and plays for a great NFL team. The NFL picked him up because he will fully recover. I would assume that Lattimore has no regrets. If anything his injury got him on a better team.

I fully enjoy TNET for the Clemson information. I just find it funny that the users on here jump to anything that they find different. That's the same mentality that lead to every mass genocide... (food for thought).

Aug 14, 2013, 1:50 PM

Regardless of how you meant it, that's how it will be perceived, and perception is 9/10ths of it all. Did you think any of the signs making fun of Sammy when gameday wasn't even with us were funny? It looked really pathetic, imo. ESPN will be at Clemson because of the great matchup between Clemson and UGA, and because we're both poised for big seasons, not because of our respective in-state rivalry. If a Dawg fan came with a sign making fun of GT...well, I don't think I'm alone in thinking that would be absurd.

lol now I KNOW you don't know what the bible says.

Aug 14, 2013, 2:17 PM

The Old covenant is important in understanding the events that point to and lead up to Jesus.

The "legality" or law of the old testament is no longer the law of God in after the new covenant, just the we live in obedience in what christ teaches, which points a lot to the important "rules" to live by. (love, turning of the cheek, not passing judgement, etc)

And actually there is "anti-gay", as you put it, stuff in the new testament in Paul's letters.

Read up brah.

I also know there is a lot of evidence to disprove the bible.

Japan boycotted the west from entering their country. During this time there was little to no western influence in Japan. That means nearly 100% of the people that died in Japan during this time went to h ell. Am I right with that?

Aug 14, 2013, 2:33 PM [ in reply to I believe there is evidence to support a god ]

There are people (even some Christians) who will tell you that all those who die without faith in Christ will be relegated to spend eternity in Hell - even if they have never heard the gospel.

I think scripture suggests otherwise - that we are judged on the basis of what we know and how we act upon it.

Those who have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and have refused to believe have rejected Him, and, as such, will fall under the condemnation of God, because they have rejected His provision for our disobedience.

If you really want to continue this discussion, ther are other more appropriate forums rather than the Mainge Board.

Re: the old covenant isn't important?

Aug 14, 2013, 2:25 PM [ in reply to the old covenant isn't important? ]

The old covenant is no more. Those laws are to no longer be followed.

The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.
10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

God's commandments are now in your heart, your own conviction, your own personal relationship.

I'm not contradicting anything.

Making a sign about a SCar player during a game that has nothing to do with SCar is cootish in itself.

Why on earth do we want a picture of a coot and the garnet and black polluting one of the most beautiful backdrops in college football?

It would be very coot-like for them to have a "Clempzon sucks" sign if they were in gameday, but we dont do that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let me ask you this....

Aug 14, 2013, 2:01 PM

If Gameday came for FSU vs Clemson, would you make a Gameday sign making fun of Jimbo Fisher's kid and his disease? Making fun of Lattimore's injuries in the same thing.

It's absolutely the same thing. If you can't see it, then that's your problem.

Neither Jimbo's kid nor Lattimore asked for what happened to them. It's called life. It's called bad luck. As they say $#!+ happens.

Now I'll grant you that Lattimore engaged in a risky behavior (football), but hundreds of people play the game and never get significantly injured. To have it happen twice was a terrible misfortune and almost cost him his entire football career. It worked out for him, but that was simply due to some good fortune (the 2nd injury looking worse than it was) and hard work.

For you think it's funny is a deafening comment on your character, or lack thereof.

Where is Lattimore today?? He is in rehab TRYING to make an NFL team. At this point, no one knows if he will ever play football again. This is because of an injury that will be with him a lifetime, just as a disease will be with someone a lifetime.

The only idiots that would have thought about doing something as stupid, immature and idiotic as what your sign suggests are the ones that also flunked out and ended up at community college, if they were that lucky.

You are a poor reflection of Clemson University. Your parents, your peers and anyone associated with Clemson University will be ashamed of you. You have been attacked on here by almost ever poster and you still refuse to give any ground.

I was a stubborn little #### for a long time and still am about some things, but I would never attack someone the way you are planning, especially at how professionally he handled himself during his time at SCU.

Yea, this may be fun and all to you and your boyfriends to joke around about, but if you do pull a stunt like this, it will leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth that sees this sign. Aug 14, 2013, 2:38 PM

is worthy of anyone's respect.

You came to Tigernet with your idea for a Gameday sign and the near-universal feedback was that it was a horrible idea.

If you care about the opinions of other Tigernet fans...
If you care about the opinions of older alumni...
If you are sensible enough to err on the side of caution with regard to your portrayal of Clemson fans on a national broadcast...

Then you won't use that sign.

If all that matters to you is your friends' validation and your personal amusement, then I guess the rest of us have to work up our "that guy isn't a good representation of most Clemson fans" speech when people we know see that sign.

You started with a horrible, embarrassing idea, and now you're flailing wildly at all comers like a drunk in a bar. At one point you responded to a bible quote by pointing out that the bible doesn't speak out against slavery. You're all over the place.

Look, lets be honest here

You came up with an idea for a sign that you knew was classless and would get the general reaction it did. You attempted to defend it below, and then decided instead to turn your attention to the reaction it received.

I won't attack you for your idea.

However, I will openly say it's an idiotic thing to do and it would reflect poorly on the Clemson fanbase. But you knew all that beforehand. You posted it to get the hostile reaction you did. Don't say something you know will result in a negative reaction and then complain about the reaction. That is either trolling, or questionable logic, at best.

The OP just wants to be on TV, so he and his buddies thought up the dumbest most shocking sign they could in order to achieve that goal.

remove the "moral/class/etc.." aspect from the situation....

Aug 14, 2013, 2:56 PM

moral aspect aside you/clemson fans look like absolute idiots making fun of a team/program that has OWNED us recently.

we have ZERO room to talk right now..........and if you think we do you'll make a fool out of yourself.

good luck "A" getting the sign into the "area".......and "B" keeping the thousands of clemson fans from "doing the right thing" and having/making you take it down.

I thought about getting the sign in..

Aug 14, 2013, 3:15 PM

This is the easiest offensive sign to get in. It will look like a normal full body lattimore cut out. They wont question it. The legs wouldn't be spinning until the cameras started to roll....

come on man, i know the monitor this stuff.

It's really kind of sad that you are wasting your money on an education that is obviously not taking.

As an Alumnus of Clemson University, I care how we are perceived by others. Anyone who would willingly do something to make Clemson look bad should not be shown any respect and should be neutralized if possible. If that means that I have to drag your ### behind Tillman and beat the coot out of you...well, it must be done.

Being a student does not mean that you are not an enemy of our University.

There is no reason for a single SC related sign to appear on Gameday until November. They don't have enough of my respect for that. I will not discuss them until November.
