Link to Darius Robinson/Al Jazeera article...

Jun 21, 2014, 1:22 PM

(apologies if deutsch. My 2cents: Darius, it was bad form to be discussing how you were Clemson's "property" while a student-athlete as you sat in a tatooists chair already sporting thousands of dollars of ink. I imagine the Athletic Dept. will have some sort of forthcoming response to the message in the article.)

One must also remember that The Post and Courier is a big time coot newspaper. I'm sure it tickled them to death to publish that report. I have been reading this newspaper for most of my life. However, it has only in the past 7-8 years turned so cootish.

I'm glad they covered Clemson. The 'pay for play' would be

highly questionable at a number of SEC schools.

IF Robinson thinks, feels, and believes the way this

Jun 21, 2014, 5:26 PM

article suggests, it's DISGUSTING.

The PAW was here before he was born and will be here after he dies.

There would be no PAW if there were no SCHOOL. And there would be no school without STUDENTS. Clemson and "the paw" is BIGGER than these players. The money made was due to the efforts of WAY more than the players, and even the FANS are to credit for improving the marketability of "the Paw."

Dabo Swinney is in his PROFESSIONAL years. There is no comparison between Dabo the PROFESSIONAL COACH and the amateur players. Incomes for lots of professions are crazy, but that's beside the point. If I want a great doctor, I go for the best, and he/she makes lots of money. They wouldn't make that money if they didn't have patients. Absolutely no way to make the money without the patients. But what logic would there be for the patients to say, "Hey, I want part of the cut! It was MY BODY that that doctor practiced on and improved his high-priced skills!" Silly.

I have found no redeeming agenda in any of this. Greed drives it all.

What is Delirious Robinson talking about. Nobody would be buying his stuff anyway. He has a degree at one of the best University's in the country and it's increasing in value every year. He not only got his tuition but room board and most meals, that the show did not address. He seemed to have enough disposable income to get a thousand or so worth of ink! #'s 10,2 28 etc sell yes, but without the 67's, 55's, 72's 62's etc they would not gain a yard or complete a pass.

Is that a Alabama A that he's getting worked on right there?

I never understood how D.R. started one game for CU ...

Jun 21, 2014, 8:57 PM

Sorry for the negativity. I was just excited to never see D.R. wear a CU uniform ever again as any freshman, and especially Alexander, will be a huge improvement. To see D.R. pop up as a representative of Clemson and wanting to be paid is a bit of a shock to my system. I'll get over it.

I'm afraid collegiate football is on a slippery slope, and

Jun 22, 2014, 7:39 AM

the path downhill keeps getting more slippery.

I am convinced that sooner or later Congress will involve itself, as it is often wont to do in national controversies, and once that happens, a whole new can of ugly worms will rise.

I don't know the solution to the imbroglio, but I do know the root: M-O-N-E-Y. And there will be many voices in the crowd citing an old adage: money is the root of all evil.

That will beg the questions: wherein lies the evil...and how much is involved?
