right decision and free us of this basketball purgatory. That is how it feels under Brown-L. Never bad but never good. Over and over. I've wasted 1/3 of my life watching this garbage.

Still, let's hold up on questioning Graham's decision making until we see how this plays put. Just my opinion.

pull the plug here with his performance this past year if we do fall short of the NCAA. Those stats look good enough on a resume where he's more likely to get a better gig if freed up now, than say after slipping back to his 1 game over .500 norm without even an NIT bid.

This year’s Men’s Basketball season did not meet our expectations nor those of Head Coach Brad Brownell and student-athletes. There were a number of reasons for the results, but we realize this is a bottom-line game. In the days following the ACC Tournament, Coach Brownell and I met several times to discuss the state of the program, potential off-season changes and plans for next year that would return us to the NCAA Tournament.
Hey, you can “plan” all you want, doesn’t mean you’ll get there. Neff didn’t say next year, or else, either. It’s kind of like stitching “Omaha” on the back of your baseball caps. Best-laid plans and all that. Yet baseball fired a Hall of Fame coach, and basketball keeps whatever level of coach Brad is, year after year.

I don't think Neff will do anything unless he has a few candidates already targeted that he feels he can get. I don't think it was the kind of year where he feels he has to fire Brad right away and take his chances, particularly if he wants to try and hold this team together for next year.
I'm guessing he will feel he needs to take his time and get this right and if that is one more year with Brad it won't kill us. I believe the indicator would be if there is no extension right now.

Georgetown, Ole Miss, Syracuse, St. John, and Georgia Tech all want to improve their men's basketball programs. We'll find out in a few weeks if Neff and the administration want to improve Clemson's program or if they are satisfied with mediocrity.

And, not a single one of them will interview Brownell. That tells you everything you need to know. Well, maybe Ole Miss since they are what they are and mediocre is probably and upgrade for them.
Oh hes such an admired coach. Yet not a soul is beating a path to his door.

That is not what he was told in the release. Neff said he and Brad agreed that playing in NCAATs was the goal and expectation. He never said it was "one or done" this year. Now, it may wind up being that way but it was never stated that way in public. If he said that to him in private, no one on here would know that for a certainty.

Very very unlikely that my Team will have a new basketball coach anytime soon. Twenty plus wins, third in the conference, injured team for more than half the season,Definitely going to a tournament in a few days, great young talent to develop, Sorry!
