4-2-5 with a hybridized S/NB/LB or 3-3-5 is the modern standard. No one runs a true 4-3 anymore for a reason.

Most teams run 11 personnel, making the 4-3 impractical. Your base will always be 4-2-5 since virtually every team runs the spread.

With regards to the portal:
QB (compete with CV)
RB (depending on Haynes or Eziomume)
WR (depending on Smith's eligibility, immediate contributor)
2 OL (starter and contributor)
2 DE (depending on Heldt's decision, starter and contributor)
DT (starter or contributor)
LB (starter or contributor)
2 CB (starter outside and at nickel)
S (depending on Barnes's decision, contributor)

exploit him in coverage. You can't have three guys in the back seven who cannot run and cover. The transfer backer that we brought in, for instance, cannot run and cover.
