4 hours and change to play an 80-minute game (including halftime)... kinda sucks the life out of the game live...
NFL can do it in 3 hours, and make more money why can't college figure it out.
They gotta fix this...

They DID figure it out. They shortened the game by keeping the clock running. Then, they added more commercials to fill in the original slot.
Screw the TV audience. Screw those waiting in the hot sun, rain, or cold who paid $$$$ for a ticket, and screw any team that likes tempo.
Athletes don't have to be in the same shape as athletes from 20 years ago. You didn't get 5-8 minute breaks every 10-15 minutes.

It is all about advertisement money. They pay big for their spots during college football since the viewing audience is so large.
It is price we have to pay, but it is most certainly annoying.

I know it can feel annoying in the moment, but I never really think “gosh I wish this game was shorter”

sign come out and it says 3:40 (used to say 2:30) it can be a bit tiresome...Particularly when they bracket a kickoff with them and you realize you've just waited 7 plus minutes for 7 seconds of football

Would be nice to see a rule that gives the receiving team the option to bypass the kickoff return and take the ball at the 25 yard line, that would help speed up the game.
