Good morning, how was everbody’s weekend?

Friday-meh nothing I remember
Saturday-went to mom’s and helped her for a while, home to drink beer and enjoy fire pit before the rain hit
Sunday-church, basketball practice then had a meeting about a travel baseball team we’re starting
8.9/10 with deductions for rain and no football

I decided to put the dash back in my project car. It appears I took the entire football season off and spent Jan in grief over losing that last game.
Just a freshener, diesel engine, transmission, total rebuild of most other systems including electrical wiring to accommodate diesel glow system with reinstalling complete interior after restoring and painting all interior components. Forgive sentence fragment...
Original mess:
So, in goes the dash:
...and I forgot about putting the vents channels for the defroster on the underside of the dash so...out comes the dash again:
Then I decided to repair a speedometer which didn't happen either.
Why am I so happy? I actually got off my lazy fat butt and did something, almost.

Friday put in a long day for me and zonked on the couch. FYI Lake Cooley Outdoor Education Center is a nice facility with a gorgeous view. Spartanburg County Parks has some quality folks working there.
Saturday slept in, broke FIL out of restorative care for a few hours
Went to party in Greer with pizza, beer, belly dancers (90% unfavorable boob to gut ratio - no pics) Island of Misfits IPA is not up to Beefsteak's standard but pretty good
Sunday typical - lunch w/ mommer, afternoon visit at RC with FIL supper with MIL how bout that Tiger road win
6/10 will probably do something similar next weekend

Fri: GBX visit and Hub City taproom MMA weigh-in in evening. Bad beer and sketchy crowd. Sat: grand kids visit, one on backside of flu, son brought mitre table saw, started working on crown molding on knee walls. May need an expert carpenter! Had Hopslam for 1st time, and 3 other new beers! Andouille stuffed pork chops for dinner Sun: thought I was getting flu but fortunately did not, slept on recliner for couple hours, watched a little Torrey pines, assembled a wardrobe cabinet for upstairs. Shrimp & pastafor dinner......7.35/10

I can tell you how to do it but I'd then have to kill you.
Go to lowes/home depot and buy yourself a couple pieces of the cheapest crown you can find. Tear some out of the neighbors' house when they are on vacation or something.
Trial and error. Youtube videos?

cut crown. You will need to know the spring angle of the molding you are cutting. After you know that, it's pretty easy.

and buy the DeWalt double-bevel miter saw. It (ahem) swings both ways (ahem) and has crown stops built into the bevel and miter settings. As long as you buy crown with the correct spring angle (and it's been long enough that I don't remember what it is), it's a piece of cake and comes out perfect.

I never saw anyone put crown in a room over the garage or a vaulted ceiling. Yes, I've worked in The Vineyard and in houses which had a million dollars worth of brick (materials only) on the outside.

Friday: headed to Cootlumbia for meeting, stayed overnight.
Saturday: Meeting again, weather was pretty dang good, home in the afternoon, chilled
Sunday: Not much, watched Clemson game, read a bit, watched X-Games and bed.
this was my last relatively slow weekend, as there is a good bit of cluster going on for a while, up to Vomit Fest

Friday dinner and drinks with friends. Good bye diet.
Saturday slept in, brunch, whatched UNC v NC ST then Virginia v Duke, then movie and dinner with friends again.
Sunday church, flat tire in the target parking lot in the rain, shopping, naps, beef tenderloin for dinner.
8/10. -3 for the flat tire in the rain, +1 for not having to spend an hour walking around target.

So-so with flashes of excellence, thank you for asking
Jan 29, 2018, 8:26 AM

Fri - no work, per usual. Did normal Friday activities during the day. Did normal Friday karaoke that night. Redhead things before karaoke (hence the flashes of excellence). Met Frank and Dennis at the karaoke bar, they were from Namibia and ran up a $660 bar tab. Was quite entertaining.
Sat - Out-of town brother comes to town, and in-town brother comes over to all meet at mom's house and proceed to begin The Great Purge Of 2018. Cleaning out the 8x20 utility room that has grown to become full of box upon box upon box of old paperwork that my dad had collected through the years. I don't think the man ever threw one single piece of paper in the trash can. Found bank statements and bills dating back to when I was born (early 70s). Spent approximately 8 hours cleaning out junk and throwing in the dumpster. Will hit the attic this week, which is going to take twice as long. Late dinner at the brewpub with wife and babee. Fantastic wings (another flash of excellence).
Sun - wife had to work so did the dad thing with babee. Made fantastic mahi mahi over rice supper, filets marinated in balsamic/soy sauce/honey marinade, which I reduced to a glaze and served on top (one final flash of excellence).
TL,DR - Lot of meh inbetween a few moments of greatness, 7.5 with extra points added for purge job and early evening segx.

Fri - Got off work early and drank some beers. Ate Mexican.
Saturday - Got leaves up out of the yard. Went out with GF's brother and stepdad and asked if it would be alright to start shopping for an intrinsically worthless piece of jewelry so that she might think of carrying my children one day. They said it would be already. RIP me. To celebrate, I got shathammered tanked and ended up picking a fight with said GF when I got home because she fussed at me for being out late. ###
Sunday - Slept off a hangover and nursed it all day. Went to the movies to see the new Jumanji movie in town. Was kinda stupid but worth a few laughs. Got home and drank the rest of my beer and went to bed.

Mixed bag
Jan 29, 2018, 8:46 AM
|
|
Friday: went home after work and had leftover tacos and did nothing because Red was out of town.
Saturday: Spent about 5 hours in the yard pulling ivy and clearing my backyard. Previous owners let the ivy take control and didn't touch about half of the backyard for the few years they lived there. Bagged 14 bags of ivy, pine needles, leaves and debris over about a sixth of my yard. Many more weekends to come back there. Had dinner with a buddy that is proposing to his girlfriend of six months. I have advised him against this plan. Ended up getting sick and breaking a fever around 2am Sunday morning. Woke up in a pool of sweat.
Sunday: Picked Red and her mom up from the airport. Went to a burrito place for brunch. Margs, bbq burrito, chips and salsa. Followed that up with a nap and not getting out of the house the rest of the day. Had a frozen pizza for dinner and watched 'Greys Anatomy' for a few hours.
Overall 7/10. Would have liked to accomplish more in the yard and not have gotten sick.

We had been officially dating for two years two weeks ago and we'll be celebrating one year of marriage coming up in March. Unless your buddy's girl just sucks as a person I don't think its necessarily a bad thing to move quick.

She gave him a deadline of January 1 to propose
Jan 29, 2018, 9:48 AM

in about November, that was four months into dating. When that didnt happen, she said she would wait until April until she would move on.
She is also demanding they get married this year, August at the latest. I asked him why hes marrying her and his response was, "well, both of our leases run out in July and we cant live together unless we're married"
So, love, and such.

Down then up

Sick on Friday which meant in bed by 10:00 Friday night with the only alcohol consumed being NyQuil.
Saturday, rolled out of bed around 8:30. Took sonof- to get his pinewood derby car cut at the local Home Depot. Bummed around for the afternoon at the house then swimming lessons for the kids, dinner out and back home and in bed around 10:30.
Sunday wifeof- and I decided that 9:00 Mass was too early, so we slept in and went to 11:00. Lunch, Petsmart to return some of daughterof-'s hamster supplies, grocery store then a brief respite before Sonof- and I headed off to the roundy-bounce-bounce game at McCamish. Nice come-back for the Tigers. Interesting to see how this team continues to develop without Grantham.
Not bad, but I'd take not being sick going into it as an improvement.

Saturday: Last bus drive of the year until Summer. Got home earlier than normal, ran some errands, pittled around the house. Grilled steaks at in-laws. Drank copious amounts of hops. Had sex.
Sunday: laid around the house all day. Son of and Wife of took a 3.5 hour nap. Daughter of played in her room. Got a whole lot of nothing done. Cooked wild hog ribs. Was terrible. Drank my calories instead had sex anyways.

Friday, got home and took a hike with the pup then ran out to get tacos. Came home and played the 'close your eyes and grab whatever out of the beer fridge' game. Strange, but all 4 times I played I ended up with an 8 or higher ABV brew. Fell asleep in the Big Chair at some point. I did watch the first installment of the Lonesome Dove prequel, Comanche Moon.
Saturday, got up and did a few chores. Took pup on her Saturday drive and went to the dump. Came home and did a few more chores, then out to run some errands since Mrs. Tig was gone for the day antique hunting in Anderson with her Mom. New passport renewal photo, stopped at the music store and ordered a replacement bridge for the Rickenbacker bass because the stock bridge is an engineering marvel of epic fail. Rode up to Cabela's to get a new rifle scope because the website showed it 50% off as in in-store deal only. Of course, they did not have it. Wandered around and looked for a bit and then went next door to Frugal's to grab Schlitz. They were out, and I refuse to leave a beer store without SOMETHING, so I snagged a few odds & ends and went home. Walked pup again, made frozen pizza, watched last two installments of Comanche Moon...meh overall.
Sunday, did as much nothing as I could squeeze into a Sunday morning. Went to grocery store, came home and made cabbage, sausage, and potato soup. Did more nothing in the afternoon because steady rain. Ate soup, kept up with Clemson game on phone, then watched classic Cheyenne Social Club, went to bed.
Overall, I give the weekend 9.25 Yelp stars. Nothing memorable, but then again nothing horrific either.

Friday-argued with wife of long enough to just say "the hell with it" trying to find somewhere to go eat. Drank 3 beers; went to bed.
Saturday-Went to the boat show and was amazed at the cost of new boats. Most expensive one I saw was $480 for a 35' Scout center console. Also saw a $49K 17' Boston Whaler. Who the eff buys these things? Later tried to install some ebay running boards on my truck with no directions. Gave up after an hour, drank 3 beers, and went to bed.
Sunday. Went and had lunch with friends at Daniel Island Grille, then went to a bar I've never been to and drank a few beers. Came home, and went to Art's with Neighbors, came back to the house and threw darts outside in the rain. Drank waaay too much, and am still semi buzzed as I write this.

Saw a $170k pontoon at the Gville boat show this weekend
Jan 29, 2018, 10:13 AM
[ in reply to meh ] |

Twin Yamaha 300's. I'm not sure we need people in this world who will spend 6 figures on a pontoon boat.
Sea Ray's are stupid expensive too. Had some Sea Hunt's there, seem like well built boats and are actually putting some seating in their center consoles. It's a shame what's happened to Chaparral, the fit and finish is about on par with my Hurricane but costs about $40k more.

Saw the same with a few Hurricanes, too. I think that's a good move for them.
Thought about what you said about getting a DC; then saw this. I like they have almost 11K of depth finder (thats really costs about 1/3 of that) and $2300 worth of 2nd rate Polk stereo.

Pretty crazy, will be hard to justify when you can get an outboard deckboat/sport boat the same size for less than half the price.

Worked in the jard on Satiddy, ignited burn pile containing cripmas tree. Much satisfaction in that. At 11:30 that night, missus inquires, "have you checked the fire?"
"Why? It's pouring down rain, I never light a fire unless it's about to rain. Besides it had burned all the way down when I left it."
Needless to say I had to make motions of checking the fire in the rain.
Busyness all day on Sunday except for a 2 hour unplanned nap.
Hurray for Clemson baxetbawl!!!

Sunday: Daughterof picked up the kids and they were going home to have dinner with her #### head boyfriend. Monday: Passed about a 10 pound turd this morning at 04:30. I had been trying to do that since probably last Wednesday. I'm cutting dairy out of my diet.

Every single time you mention Maria, I immediately think of B.W. Stevenson and then end up going down the rabbit hole listening to him. Buckwheat died much too young, but left a nice legacy of some absolutely fantastic songs.

action packed, kid friendly, and sechsy time. ++

Friday, Each kid got to have a friend over so Messican food, Same as every friday. Karaoke for the oldest and then movies in the living room. 4 kids piled up on the rug until all hours of the night.
Saturday. Oldest had a 9am basketball game. Apparently they played UNCheat, as "our" team ended the game with 4 players as the other 4 fouled out. Incidentally we were not even in the bonus in the second half.
Lunch Pizza Buffet. enough said
MONSTER JAM!! kids had a ball. I almost fell asleep. Could have been carbon monoxide poison from the fumes, but we survived. I enjoyed the 4wheeler races more than the trucks. The boys were hopped up on candy and exhaust fumes..so alls well that ends well.
Dinner at the EPIC buffet.....not epic.
But kids had so much fun, both guests called and asked if they could stay Saturday night too. G r e a t. So again kids piled up watching Spiderman, Spiderman 2 etc....
Sunday. Youngest went skating with friend who stayed over. Oldest basketball practice.
Mom continued her lounging then lunch with a friend. I think she had a great weekend.
EARLY Bedtime for the kiddos. exhaustion is exhausting.
Sunday night Sechsy time.
This morning.....sechsy time take 2.
I need a nap.

Left work early Friday (yeah!) and saw the movie The Post. No car chases, violence, or tittays butt an excellent movie. Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep killed it. Not a dull moment. Got dinner at Gyro City and this Greek place does not disappoint. They bring out so much free appetizers in the beginning that you end taking most of your food home. Relaxed late night and watched Rogue One again.
Went over to Athens on Saturday to catch Del McCoury band. Got drinks at the Globe and the World Famous. Tried to go to Takorea for some Korean tacos but they closed for good so got some cheap Mexican at the Taco Stand. Creature Comforts was way too busy and the line was too long so unable to visit.
The band Commander Salamander opened up at the GA Theater. 3 piece bluegrass band they played a lot of Jerry tunes. The Del McCoury band was incredible. It is great to see a legend and I was blown away on how good it was. The crowd was really into it and it was a great show. Wood see again and again. A show snippet:

Sunday did less than nothing, which was nice.

Grandpa's funeral on Saturday.
Lost to a team we shouldn't have in indoor Sunday evening, might kick us out of the finals in two weeks.
Kicked off a fat loss challenge on Sunday, it's until May 3, largest total percentage of fat weight lost wins. 8 of us in, winner will get $850. So with this motivation I'm gonna see if I can finally get under 200#.

Fridy - Acquired some Hopslam and some Weyerbacher Sunday Mole Stout. Got greasy cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. Drank whiskey and beer.
Sattidy - Done a lot of home improvements around the house. Went to Seneca to pickup wife's wedding rang that was being fixed. Drank Mole Stout and had a Hopslam. Hopslam was not that good, sorry not sorry.
Sundy - Church, lunch, nap. Picked up sushi from Irashia and watched a movie and drank beers. Had an intermission complete with

Friday: Had me a fat bottom girl. Can't tmale pig attachments, so let me know if you have the snapchat for pigs, tmale me your handle. Never been with a girl that thick from behind, and it was incredible. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.
Satiday: Back/chest day at the gym and it was incredible. Then had a final interview and took a job in Orlando. Will be moving down end of February. Satiday night banged out a different chick from bumble, but failed to take pigs. She forced her way into a sleepover, which was just awful.
Sunday: Watched the Tigers win a shooty hoops game and did all the adult things.
All in all, solid weekend.
