Put yourself in an Alabama fan’s shoes. I think Saben will

be there a minimum of two more years, maximum of four. Accepting the fact that you are not going to get Dabo, who do you go after? Though it’s considered probably one of the top jobs in the nation, I think the old adage “you do not want to replace a legend” will influence a lot of good coaches. Who do you go after?

Cliff Kingsbury after the Air Raid Fails in NFL

I could see them going after Kingsbury after he is run out of the NFL. But, he would have NFL experience. He would still be young and relatable to the kids for recruiting purposes. He coached some very good QB talent which; if you have a good QB always gives you a punchers chance!
***Note: the air raid just may work in the NFL, IDK. But, Kingsbury would still be my choice even if he is only moderately successful. No doubt they would want a younger guy to compete with the charismatic Swinney. By then, if all goes how I expect it, Coach Swinney and Co. will have kids tripping over themselves to get a Clemson offer!

No way they go after anyone who is not in the Nick Saban coaching tree. There for at choice will be jimbo but they will realize they can’t out bid A&M. Then next is Kirby and I don’t think he leaves Georgia. Much better recruiting ground and he doesn’t have to coach against Saban no more. Leaving them with Pruitt. I think if it plays out this way Bama would be over, they would have to settle for there 4 choice candidate. That in a normal world doesn’t happen.

The names you mentioned have good jobs already. I don't believe(don't quote me) any of them are alums of the school. They just coached for Saban. If they are at their own school and have been cultivating it; much like Coach Swinney; you don't just leave it. Be like getting a prom date and buying her a fancy dress, make up artist, designer jewelry and fragrance perhaps months before even some plastic surgery! Only so you can let some joker take her to the prom! I don't think so!
I think they get an outside coach who has shown he knows how to recruit. Maybe someone who could recruit good given a limited budget and name brand. Someone who would excel with the name Alabama behind them!

Any coach they go after will have a good job! They are not going to go after a unknown coach. All the coaches I have seen listed have good jobs. Texas, penn state etc... Alabaman doesn’t have time to go after candidates with potential but not a lot of experience. They are going to go after a proven winning. Too much history and pedigree not too. It’s not like Lincoln Riley and Ryan day where they have been under good coaches and waiting there turn. All the good coaches at Bama leave for head coaching positions already.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went after Meyer.

He's been a HC long enough to have matured and he's a fine offensive mind. He also has the smart asz Bama fans will need to replace Saban.

Venables, but I have my doubts he would go. I love Dabo, but BV kicked some bama ### this year. were I Bana I'd take an ,"if you cant beat em, hire em" approach.

You wish! BV isn't going anywhere "soon"! Certainly not for Alabama! Kansas St maybe one day; but not for Bama where it has been done already!

If Saban falls behind two sec teams such as...
Apr 30, 2019, 9:15 PM
|
|
Lsu and UGA and doesn't make final four two years in a row after getting whipped by lily ole Clemson, saban will probably move on.
If he can stay in final four, I say he ststs until he wins 1 more title then moves on.

Hmmmm, an Interesting thought, to put myself "in an Alabama fan's shoes."
They often say that you shouldn't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. After that it doesn't matter; because they're a mile away, and you've got their shoes.
