Houston Methodist Hospital, which operates eight hospitals in its network, said the first lambda case was confirmed Monday. The lambda variant was first detected in Peru in December 2020, according to the World Health Organization and makes up 81% of COVID-19 cases sequenced in the country since April 2021, according to a June WHO report.

i am pretty sure I have been symptomatic since the weekend. I feel like I did after I took the second vaccine, slightly feverish and tired. I am also high right now, so it is hard to tell. Hopefully, this turns out to be a free booster shot.

I've had heavy limbs and fatigue and stiffness

Last weekend. Felt very weak. Middle son today has the same heavy limbs and stiffness and a low fever.
If he gets worse or me maybe we will get a test. Who knows. But the last time I felt like this past weekend was the day after the second vaccine shot. Same feeling of crappiness. Not a big enough deal. More worried about son. If he still has a fever tomorrow we will go to the doc.

Until it becomes important it's not important. Other than Chile, Argentina, and Peru its not been very successful. It hasn't beaten out Delta anywhere. It has beaten out P1 in a few countries though.
I'd be more concerned with AY1, AY2 and AY.3. Those variants are evolved delta variants with immune escape mutations similar to Lambda, but with the transmissibility of delta. Lambda may make you sicker but if it doesn't spread as well it won't. But original Delta has beaten out AY1 and AY2 in California so I think for a while anyway delta is the only worry.
