Lake Hartwell is a dangerous place

Was coming back the other night w son of and father, had been out fishing. Guy in a pontoon cuts us off and goes ahead of us, no big deal…
Then he makes a U turn right in front of us and headed str8 for us. We had to put the engine on idle to avoid hitting him. My Dad throws his hands in the air (like ###).
Dude pulls out an assault rifle w a scope and aims it as us, son of hit the deck ??. We just stayed calm and put the engine in gear and left. No shots fired.

We did call DNR and they had 3 boats on the lake at the time.

But a black pontoon boat w a 25-35 year old male on it is hard to find on a lake that big.

We didn’t have a gun on the boat (we have them at the house), but if we had a gun we could have started shooting. I’d prefer to just get the hell out of the area.

extremes....I also do not have a pontoon, and shame on you for thinking I do.
There's definitely a new 'breed', shall we say, of people on the lake. You used to have your rednecks or whatever, but they were all good guys for the most part and pretty laid back. Just trying to cruise, pound some beers and chill type guys.
I'll put it like this, you see a lot more males with (probably fake) diamond earrings and sleeve tats than you used to.
