Another school must have offered him more money and Ohio was not willing to get into a bidding war for a QB that didn't beat Michigan.

Either that, or Day told him his position was up for grabs and he didn't like it. Who knows. Glad kids have options, but it seems far too many hit the panic button anytime they face adversity. They quit once, find out that it's easy, and then quit again and make another appearance in the portal.

According to fans I know from up there, they are looking to add a QB from the portal. They were not happy with his results this year. And we are considered fickle fans.

Good QBs rise to the top no matter where they play. I can understand why a 19=20 year old who is a pretty good QB would want to take a chance on making 500,000+ by moving to a different school. Colleges could have solve this problem by establishing a pay system with bonuses like the private sector. Things are moving in that direction but slowly.

ten more that will exit college either with NO degree, or one that is completely worthless in the real business world. They seem to be totally disregarding the REAL advantage that has been given them, which is the opportunity for a FREE, HEAVILY TUTORED COLLEGE EDUCATION.

I would agree. I think in time the players become athletic department employees with all that goes with that. Taxes and insurance and performance reviews.

They’re losing some other guys to the portal too. I didn’t think he was that bad. To me they had other issues besides QB.

One big issue with Ohio State is too much talent. It was like watching an NBA game where nobody played until the fourth quarter. Which doesn’t work when you start to play a good team like Michigan. Maybe that’s coaching I don’t know.
