Kliff Kingsbury coming to TT to coach would be like if we

hired Charlie Whitehurst to come back and be our coach with a one year stint as OC at NC STate or somethign.
Could ya'll imagine that furry headed joker on our side lines shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head like he used to do here?
Didn't Charlie play against Kingsbury in that Champs Bowl that we got blown out in....I think we were favored in that game too...there was alot of shrugging and shaking of heads in that game.

Charlie took a lot of hits that game. Surprised he stayed on the field with the protection he had that night.

That was his freshman year and he showed great toughness in that game. He established himself as the leader of the team and the next 3 years.

comparing it to if we hired CW to be our coach. It seems like that would be crazy b/c they just left school.
CW kind of struck me as a punk when he was here. I was at Clemson at the time he was here and thought he was kinda too cool for school. Decent QB, but definitely not a leader.

KK has more than 1 year experience as an OC. Not only was he the OC at TX A&M but also at Houston where he was named coordinator of the year. Yes he is a young guy but his college experience isn't significantly different from Chad Morris' and there are a non-trivial number of people who would love to see Chad as the HC at Clemson over Dabo (Note - I am not among them).
KK has demonstrated he can coach the only real question is if he will make a good head coach.

saying it woudl be hard to imagine CW being our head coach b/c he just left school not long ago. He was the QB before Will Proctor wasn't he? That wasn't too long ago.
KK has had a pretty quick rise as compared to others.

Charlie Whitehursts fault. He took a beating in that game unlike many I've seen Clemson quarterbacks have to endure.
The offensive line and most of the defense simply quit trying. I've never been angrier at a Clemson team or coaching staff before or since.....though certainly some of that was evident in the Orange Bowl last Jan

what does his hiring say about Morris? You got to wonder how the most highly paid assistant coach in college football lost out to a young Kingsburry. Kingsburry must bring something to the table to land a head coaching job in the Big 12.
