Have we ever had two 5 star DE that could start at the same time?

Well said! His attitude is unbeatable, and he is maximizing the opportunity that he has. He's going to be a great player! Also of interest...he had 9 tackles in 39 snaps. That is ridiculously efficient, and shows that he played every down with maximum effort.

I will always remember KJ’s commitment video when he had one of his high school coaches make the announcement for him because the coach was being honored that day and KJ Didn’t want to do anything that would take away from the coach’s special day. What a class act! In Dabo’s program he will continue to grow as a person and a leader of men. And yes.... KJ on one end and XT on the other is going to be fun to watch on the field as wel!!!! It’s always a great time to be a Tiger!!!!

Glad he was willing to wait for his time. Too many people these days want instant gratification. Gotta pay your dues, especially on a championship team. That's all part of Dabo's culture. GO TIGERS!

He's def going to get plenty of PT, but Foster will be tough to beat out far the starting job. He's done a great job this past season when his number was called. We're going to be deep and talented yet again with guys like Rudolph and Mascoll in the mix as well. I just hope the DT's will be ready to go to take some of the pressure of the ends. Pinkney and Williams should be solid, will be interesting to see how the depth plays out behind them. But I def expect XT and KJ to be the primary 3rd and long DE's or in obvious passing situations.

What about depth at DT? I'm not worried about DE at all, but DT could be kind of bare?

That's what I said, it'll be interesting to see how the depth plays out behind Pinkney and Williams. Kelly and Jeffries will probably be in the 2 deep and true freshman Tyler Davis will have his opportunity to get some PT. Now that those guys will be getting all the attention in camp I expect to see those guys improve significantly and making plays. Its easy to say we lose this guy and that guy, but that's the motto every year since Gaines Adams, Bowers, Beasley, Lawson..etc. Bottomline is.....there will ALWAYS be somebody else stepping up the following year.

I guess I was just asking for maybe inside info and see if anyone has heard anything about anyone stepping up. That's all I'm saying.

With guys like KJ coming along and XT it becomes a reload, and not a matter of time for more experience. Great humble attitude that has been consistent with our great teams, and that is especially nice to see in an age where sadly for many athletes it’s just a me attitude! Good luck next year KJ look forward to following you! Go Tigers!

Do the players get to pick their roommates? Is it randomly assigned? Didn’t expect a defensive end and a QB to room together. For some reason I always assumed players at the same position or at least on the same side of the ball roomed together. Maybe Dabo forces this type of arrangement to avoid the offensive players only hanging around offensive players and vice versa.

His family is an awesome great Christian family that loved Clemson and Dabo from the start. I remember many were really concerned about him coming to Clemson but I kept telling them his family and he loved Dabo and Clemson.
We were blessed he chose Clemson, his ceiling is the sky!! The best is truly yet to come, I love the fact he and Trevor are roommates. Our coaches do a great job with this.

Heyall , I'm 245 and that's without a redshirt and sans Power Hour . Seems like beer and chicken wings could land me a spot on the 2019 roster ... I just need to pull up some film from my pee wee and HS playing days between 1978 and 1987 .

I live about 35 minutes

From the area where KJ lives and have a favorite “watering hole” in this suburb of Winston that I visit often. As with most bars there is always a lot of football experts hanging around to show their knowledge of sports. All these guys were excited because Saban has visited the school to see K J . They thought that put them in with the elite! I told these characters that KJ would end up a Tiger and Bama didn’t have a chance. They all thought that I was a real Clemson fan who had big dreams but no idea of what it was like to be chased by Saban. No way KJ could say no to their hero.
I still go back to that place often, and now no one knows who I am! I love it. This kid will be among the best ever at Clemson. Get on the KJ bandwagon with me. It’s going to be a great ride.

I was visiting the football complex with a group last summer, and KJ passed us. When seeing him up close, you know exactly what he is; definitely a defensive end. He looks like a young Trevor Pryce and will be another of our great DEs.
