Sounds like we need to respond by saying, "lets schedule a home and home Coach Kiffin"...
The right answer is not answering.... let the record speak for itself, but would be interesting.

It still didn’t matter, the one thing I’ve learned over the years with any of the SEC coaches especially Kiffin, it’s never that your team is better, it’s always someone else fault you loss, so who cares if you beat the SEC, ppl have short memories but with us ppl have long memories😂…he wants to use our name for clout (because we are CLEMSON). We play Bama, UGA, LSU…. Why would we want to play Mississippi 😂😂😂 clown.

Dude just love to be heard, like when he called out Paul F for being wrong all the time. If we so soft I hope to see you y’all in the playoffs, that is if y’all can get through the big bad SEC. Psssh when they had to win to make it to CFP last year they choked. Like all lane kiffen teams. Go Tigers!!

Pretty bold talk for a guy who scheduled Furman, MTSU, Georgia Southern and Miss St. last year. At large bids are basically ESPN picking who they want to play. They run the polls. Lane will continue with the audible diarrhea and ESPN would reward him for it. If you're paying players, go to conferences and championships like the NFL.

I can't say Kirby would be totally wrong but his logic is flawed.
If we played UGA 12 times last year, it probably comes out 6-6.
Then we both miss the playoffs.

UGA regressed throughout the year. CU got better.
The score for the 12th game would be similar to game 1 but in our favor.
Let’s face it. UGA was not a playoff team last year.

Despite an online that couldn’t run block and receivers who couldn’t catch, UGA won the SEC, beating Texas twice in the process. Georgia was clearly worthy of a playoff spot. Now, I think last year’s UGA team would have lost by double digits to Ohio State. CU got better while UGA regressed? Dawgs beat Texas late in the season. Clemson’s last two games included getting embarrassed by SC at home and a double digits loss to Texas.

Any objective football fan would conclude that UGA was soundly beaten by a bad GT team but for some very questionable calls.
UGA beat UT on a neutral field in the SEC CG in a snoozer that UT should have won by 14.
UGA was not a playoff team at the end of last year. Hence their early exit to a mediocre ND team.
Hopefully UGA can win a playoff game this year but I am not optimistic.

I hate agreeing with dawg here, but he's got a point. We can't ignore what happened in that game. Yes, Clemson improved substantially throughout the course of the season with the emergence of Moore and Wesco as well as Cade's improvement. But the offensive play was still somewhat erratic against better teams (like Louisville and SC), Mafah got hurt, and the defensive issues really started to get exposed. UGA had their own problems, no doubt, but I don't know how you could look at last season objectively and say Clemson and Georgia would split a 12-game series. I don't think the 'dogs would sweep, but I don't see how that '24 Clemson team beats Georgia 6 times.
Now if you want to talk '25? That's a completely different story.

With last years run defense, Georgia would’ve won 12 out of 12. 34-3 was them putting on the brakes. Did you watch that game? Not being rude but we were a very mediocre team starting out last year that improved over the year.

Our downfall began when we lost BV then Tony and Dabo replaced them with coaches that wouldn't have been hired at those positions by any other power conference teams. Now that Dabo has corrected his mistakes, I think we can look forward to getting back to our winning ways!!!

Man these SEC coaches are some whiny little brrritches.
Sitting back fat as a pig and saying, "Nah, we're good with our conference. We don't need to expand."
vs.
Complaining that Clemson has it easier.
They're playing both sides here. Either keep your conference as-is and quit your complaining, or bring Clemson in to play you straight up.
But for the love, stop pretending like the last six decades of miserable Ole Miss football, or the terrible Miss St. teams, or USC not winning a #### thing, or Vandy being Vandy are because Clemson has it easier.

This SEC love fest is so hilarious. Like there's 3, maybe 4 good SEC teams every year and then the other 12 are basically middle of the road college teams but like to puff their chest out about how hard the schedule is. You want to play Clemson over Vanderbilt? Mississippi State? Kentucky? Texas A&M? Florida? Give me a break.

he didn't say that HE would rather play Clemson 12 times than face the SEC, he said another coach said that.
But really...Ole Miss's schedule this year...oh yeah...oh man...soooooo tough...lol...
vs Georgia State - No Comment @ Kentucky - 1-7 in conference, 4-8 overall last year vs Arkansas - 3-5 in conference, 7-6 overall last year vs Tulane - Pretty solid, unranked, AAC team vs LSU - 5-3 in conference, 9-4 overall last year vs Washington St - Finished 2nd in their conference of 2 teams last year @ UGA - Well...yeah. They are good. Finished ranked 6th last season @ Oklahoma - 2-6 in conference, 6-7 overall last year vs South Carolina - 5-3 in conference, 9-4 overall last year, Finished ranked 19th last season vs The Citadel - No comment vs Florida - 4-4 in conference, 8-5 overall last year, unranked, @ Miss St. - 0-8 in conference, 2-10 overall last year
They literally play two teams that finished last season in the Top 25. That is hysterical. Even Clemson plays three teams that finished in the Top 25 (South Carolina, SMU, Syracuse).
His schedule is garbage. Typical SEC blowhard...our schedule is tough because the stadiums are big. Whatever, man. I would love to see you play Clemson for a full season. I'm sure that would work out great for you.

Hardly. 11-1? I guess possibly if he crushes everyone and competes with Georgia? With that schedule, you don't take them over a comparable Clemson team at 11-1.
Nice pre-season begging, though.

Good point but I believe they would be more biased than experienced players/coaches. What i would worry about having only media is the media factory schools like THE O-cry-O state, the State Penn(atentary), Meechigan State and Syracuse Chic fil-A biasing the vote the way they do w media.

They should give a natty trophy to the whole conference that wins it all each year. I figure that should make all but the top two or three teams in the sec happy. It would also be the only way Ole miss and Usc will have a natty trophy to display.

as much as I disagree, going 0-3 vs SEC teams last year will earn these types of preseason comments. We just need to set it straight this year.

Even in Citadel ran all over us last year. We weren't very good. We would be the real deal this year though.

Short memories.. What was Clemsons record against the SEC prior to 2021? Here is an example of Clemson Success against the sec.
"In the College Football Playoff era, they are 12-3 against SEC teams, with a 10-1 record in regular season play during that period"

2-5 the last three seasons. I'm not suggesting Clemson is done, but that is an ugly record.

Unfortunately nothing will ever be set straight. Clemson could win the NC 5 years in a row and the SEC will view us as equal to MS State. No need for their approval.

There are few things they get correct. They never have been known for academic prowess, except maybe, Vandy, and they are a poor FB program.

perhaps you missed last season.
Dabo can shut that stuff up in a couple of weeks and at the close of the regular season.

Adorable.
Maybe coach Ford needs to meet Lane at mid-field like his daddy to show him what's what. That's when Danny made his "I shouldn't have went on the field statement."

It is sad but based on last year, Lane Kiffin is not wrong. Dabo understands that to be the man, you have to beat the man and we start that on August 30. Flip the narrative and flip the finger to Lane, Beat LSU.

(as Coach Swinney has done many times), and becomes the man (as Coach Swinney has been for many years), then he can make statements about being/beating the man.

Under Dabo, Clemson only has a losing record against 3 SEC schools (two of them we've only played once - the UTs) and is 23-16 against the SEC overall. The ONLY school that we've played more than once and lost over half the games is Georgia. We're even with a couple more (Alabama, LSU) and have winning records against the others that we've played (South Carolina, Oklahoma, Auburn, Kentucky, and A&M).
5 SEC Schools we have winning records against (overall 19-8 against those 5, 10-1 against the four other than South Carolina) 3 SEC Schools we have losing records against (overall 1-5 against those 3) 2 SEC Schools we are even with (overall 3-3 against those 3)
We'd AVERAGE 9-3 (5.25-2.75 in conference) under Swinney given these statistics and assuming an average SEC non-conference schedule (3 cupcakes and one good team). Yes we'd probably have a couple 6-6 (3-5) type years in a 15 year span. But we'd also have more 11-1 or better seasons than LSU and close to as many as Georgia. It almost certainly wouldn't change our national championships in that span (especially the 2018 one... arguably could have resulted in us winning 2015 instead of 2016).

Totally understandable as to what was said. Ask the every year national title hopes, Oklahoma, what it is like playing in the SEC. You would be the new Oklahoma when you got over here.

It amazes me how many people are whining about these comments. I'm glad he made them, and wouldn't be surprised if he didn't intentionally make them to give Clemson bulletin board material. Clemson plays 2 of the SEC's "playoff contenders" this year, and best believe Dabo will be repeating these comments to the players leading up to those games. Furthermore Kiffin doesn't have to worry about playing Clemson unless they make the playoffs, and he left himself room to walk them back personally. It's "talking season" for crying out loud. Bumping gums to try and catch eyeballs, so as far as that goes mission accomplished by Kiffin.
