I did my undergrad work at THE University of Texas.
Whats yer point? Seems hardly relevant to this discussion. Although Im sure you'll go the mouth-breather route and insult UT football, yada yada.
Point is y'all know Dabo'd get skinned in Tuscaloosa. And Athens. And Columbus, Ann Arbor, and South Bend. And prolly Austin, too, given Mack Brown ruined all Horns fans with his incessant "aw shucks we suck" schtick. They'd sniff Swinney's offal a mile away.
I know it hurts to think there are fanbases out there who are A) unimpressed with Dabo's little lakefront fiefdom and B) unwilling to pay $100M for his swill, but there are.

If you had, you'd be a changed man or woman and wouldnt get the drizzles when folks dont bow at Dabos feets.
But if you did, Im sure Texas is the less for your departure.
I do actually know a little bit about ball. Not much, but certainly enough to see through Dabo's latest propaganda.
i know clemson's got an O that save FAU and CSU would be averaging about 4.8 yds/play. Good for about 100th in the land or thereabout.
Which means having a kicker who can kick would sure come in handy in a couple of upcoming games where your D can keep things close.
And yet. Aw shucks. Who needs a kicker. Or someone to coach him.
Or a RB who cant be run down by a LB?
Or a WR corps that can pull down a 50-yarder a couple times a game so the slow RBs dont have to work so hard for a little extra yardage.
Its not a sophisticated analysis, I admit. But after all these years listening to Dabo's takes, sophistication isnt a priority.

The thing you have to understand about horns fans is that they believe, since their athletic department makes so much money, regardless of their lackluster play on the field, that they are in the same league as Bama, Georgia, and I'd say us. If you point out that they've won 1 national title in the last 50 years, or that in 27 years in the Big 12 they won 3 conference titles, they get very defensive, and then they'll start talking about national titles they have that some random outlet awarded them (They've now started to say they won the 1981 title).

Only winning two in a row like that. Losers.
I guess youre right on the Big 10 references. They arent on Clemson's level in the last yawn decade.
Theyd be lucky to have Dabo. Who doesnt want to finish third in the conference for $12M year.

Bwahahahaha. What is THE Univerisity of Texas? Do the tsips down in Austin think their Ohio State now? I grew up in Austin and know all to well about their inflated sense of worth (think they're bama and their modern football history is that of the Washington Huskies), but in their defense, Mack Brown was far too often the signing day national champ, but could hardly sniff conference championships, let alone national championships, so he didn't have many skins on the wall to point to.
Now, in regard to Dabo, he might get skinned in some of those places, but I've seen everyone of those schools hold onto coaches that were winning far fewer games for a much longer time with very few trophies that mattered (Bo Schembechler, Mark Richt, Jon Cooper, Mack Brown, etc.). Dabo has at least earned enough grace to fix whatever the issues are, just like Saban or Smart would be afforded as well. I don't think anyone is pushing him out anytime soon, but he also can't claim "Best is Standard" and then be fine with losing games.

A 14 point *win 6 point *win ...
Bama usually finds a way to win things. Not always, but usually. We'll see if Clemson can find a way in the coming weeks. Maybe they'll end up in the T25 again. Or even somewhere in the T15 with Bama.

Clemson was only 3 touchdowns away from beating Duke.
Imagine Bama fans if they lost to Kentucky. By 3 touchdowns. And out of playoff contention by September.

While I respect your positive spin as an obviously loyal fan, it is so far from reality that it is laughable. We are in no way a field goal away from being a top-ten team. Still, your looking for roses among the thorns is appreciated.

Dabo makes 11 million a year. He does not care what anyone on the message board says.
He's lost his chance at becoming the Bama coach with the decisions he's made the past few years. If Clemson fans are too much for Dabo, how will he be able to handle the insanity of the Alabama fanbase?
Dabo should stop playing the victim and accept that there are high exceptions for the second highest paid CFB coach. Expectations he has failed to meet due to his stubbornness.

like it’s different at bama or anywhere else - dabo is a big boy
let’s not criticize one of the things that separates us from the gamehens
we don’t accept and tolerate mediocrity

This is a sign of the coming end. If you are my age you can remember legendary coaches saying the same thing right before their teams lost 4 or 5 games.
Stallings, Bryant, the o l ball coach and Penn st guy.
All complaining about the fans.
In their defense they were all right, but history repeats

This quote is quite frankly all the evidence you need to see that Dabo has lost the drive it takes to be at the top of this industry. It used to be that best is the standard. Now losing is good for you? He's complacent and it shows.
