when hanging on by a thread by not trying to get a first down and playing so bland. Their defense is all in the box to stop the run and we accommodate them by running in the middle 3 times and punt. This gives them another chance to beat us. We do not have a Venables defense to win with defense.

Completely agree! Prevent defense and offense are losing mentalities! If nothing else it says you have zero confidence in your team to be aggressive and get the job done.
