Xavier & Texas A&M were in finals last year…both in NCAA this year.

and then uses an NIT bid as a catalyst for the future because they know their best is still ahead of them.

But there are also situations where a team with a core of veterans and a ton of experience plays hard, does well, but come up just short of The Big Dance and they realize that THIS was their chance and now the NIT will offer no redemption.

Sadly, you have to feel that Clemson fits into the second category.

There is a solid reason to accept the NIT bid. The team keeps playing and practicing in a competitive environment. In football that’s why it’s so important to be bowl eligible.
