I remember watching Clemson during the Bowden years…and towards the end of his coaching career i remember the emotionless gestures he had when Clemson would lose.
Here we are and though Dabo doesn’t look as bad on the sidelines as he did, his post game conferences are exactly the same as Tommy’s before he got the can.
They are emotionless. They are vague. He has no fire in him during these. As much as I can’t stand Brian Kelly, Brian was PISSED last year after that loss. He wanted change. He was honest and direct. Dabo could learn something from Brian’s press conferences.
The offensive stats for this game are terrible. But Dabo wants to pretend this was a good heavyweight fight and we simply got outclassed by LSU’s defense.
I think Dabo is getting close to the end. I really do. I love him for who he is and everything he has done, but i think he is on borrowed time. Maybe not this year or next, but in 5 years or less he is going to be likely gone.
I am just a fan with no real football experience so i am likely wrong, but this feels very similar in a lot of ways to the end of Tommy Bowden’s career at Clemson.

Dabo will probably leave next year and go coach Bama for a few years before he retires to become an analyst on TV. Bama is about to run their guy off, they’re getting desperate and I just feel it’s coming.

Watching Clemson the past couple years do you really think Bama is screaming we gotta get Dabo? Dabo is not a coach, he is a CEO. He certainly a’int Saban.

No matter what, last Dabo Jr is on the team 1 more year after this. If Dabo can get this Jr a Champ Ring, then all 3 would get one at Clemson during their holding yrs. Gotta say, the Swinney's have been great holders, don't recall a single flub?
So that puts Dabo here through 2026 just for child. I think Dabo has one more run in him and I really think this is his push, 2025
But I can see why some assume he is counting checks vs coaching but I think 1-2yrs, but obviously its now!

The youngest Swinney kid already has an ACC Championship ring. We certainly ain’t getting a CFP championship next year, too much talent leaving after this year

I honestly don’t think its fun for Dabo anymore. Between the NIL bullcrap and the ever changing rules, i don’t think its fun for him anymore. Who could blame him?

Alabama won’t take a coach that won’t use the portal. Those fans would rather keep the lame duck they have now than Dabo.

Nobody else is giving Dabo $11 million and he isn't going anywhere else to take a pay cut. I don't see him retiring and we are not going to fire him for going from elite for 5 or 6 years to good the last 5 years. Good, bad or otherwise he will be on the sidelines for a while.

So you think that we are firing Dabo for the last five years? Five years that have included 2 playoff appearances, 3 ACC Championships, and a post season win every year. Is it what I want? In Dabo's defense, I do think that he is trying to change although I am not sure that it isn't slower than the surrounding environment of college football. We did take a few transfers last year. He made what appeared to be 3 great coaching hires at the time. Regardless of what people think about Riley now, he was as hot as the come at the time. I think that the jury is still out on Luke and Allen, but you can't argue with the hires.
There's hope, but we need to remember that even Ohio State was 10 years between National Championships with 10 times the resources that we have. It's not a given that we can get back to the 2015-2020 form. But it also is not a given that we won't.

Dabo will leave on his own terms, imo. However, I do think he will be gone by 2030 if he can't figure out how to utilize the transfer portal. 2025 team will compete for the ACC title, which is a historically above average year. With that mind, 2026 looks sparce and will resemble an early Bowden team (due to lack of portal utilization).
