Had the Hudson County Championship last night at Sports Illustrated Stadium (where the Red Bulls play) and it was the first time Hoboken girls soccer had even made the final. They proceed to take an early 1-0 lead while they are still doing the intros. We give up an equalizer late in the 1st but take the lead on a quick free kick in the second half. Game was fun and competitive especially since Bayonne beat us 2-0 a little over 2 weeks ago. Both teams were gassed since they're not used to playing on such a wide field. VERY happy it didn't go to extra time and/or PKs since my kid is in goal. And yes - it was very cool to see them play at such a nice field/stadium.

their backs turned. I thought the ref was gonna whistle it dead but I didn't know he gave Emma the OK to play audibly

accumulated for state playoffs. In the state, they play against like sized schools. In this county tourney, they play against all of the teams that sit in the county, regardless of size. Like Bayonne has close to 3000 students, while Hoboken only has 800 or less. States start on 11/5
