Advice for newer donors

If you’re a newer IPTAY member, don’t increase your donation level with the expectation of getting an improved parking spot. Every time that I have done that over the years, I have been moved further away than I was the year before. The ability to request your top three choices is a sham. I have never had a single one of those honored in close to 20 years. It’s getting really hard to justify donating when they continue to ask for more and we receive less in return.

No guarantee in parking. I donate at a level

2 levels higher than the parking lot I ask for.

I've gotten it 7 outta the last 8 years.
And it is lot 16 so there aren't a lot of people begging to get it.

We have gone from 100 feet from the stadium to now parking behind the soccer practice fields. We are tired of being asked for more money and getting nothing but a few Iptay Stickers and lapel pins.

Before any1 else can.

Your parking spot is not guaranteed but you are gurantted a spot and you have a chance to guarantee that your seats wouldn't change.

I want to see Clemson really do something for IPTAY donors. We should not have to beg to see the football complex or watch a practice. Give priority to the older donors if necessary. Also, we should have an event at the stadium with player access.

you will get IPTAY's attention when you wave $2.5 million in front of them.

Good luck. Have you seen their offices? Nice.
And when Dabo retires, they are all bailing. Like part-time real estate agents when the boom is over.

I hate this for you and others in your situation. I heard a similar story this morning where an IPTAY rep called a donor recently (they had seats for MANY MANY years) and basically said either pay up or lose your 6 seats in the upper part of the South Upper deck...

I continually loathe IPTAY and their "phone" representatives...smh

I think before you can work for IPTAY you have to be employee of the year at the ACC to learn how to screw Clemson fans

I will try not to be overly negative. But based on my experience (20+ year IPTAY supporter), I would advise a new College Graduate that there is no benefit in joining. The only benefit is that you will feel included in finically supporting the team. I take a little bit of pride in that. But everyone is different.

That said, the reality is that unless you are in the 1% class that can just write blank checks, you will not get the tickets you hope for. And even then, you may not get what you want.. The tickets are just not available. And, I believe, for at least the next 5 years, there is a steady stream of older "boomer" Alumni that have money and points that will be able to scoop up any new/ lower deck or good upper deck seats. Not saying thats bad or wrong. It's just the way it is. Clemson doesn't have the ticket turnover and because of that only a handful of tickets are coming open on any given year. When assigning seats, donor level is first, then points inside a level are used next. So any new tickets are going to be purchased by donors that can throw down 8-15k. Hardly a sum that a new college graduate can typically afford to do. So if there's never any new/ better tickets available at the lower donor levels (1-3K), its not worth it to even build up the points.. So for that reason , I just cant advise any new person to join IPTAY, outside of the token $100 donation.

It is better for a person to find tickets through tigernet or some other third party and pay exactly for what you know you are going to get. Just giving money to IPTAY and hoping, is just going to lead to disappointment.

Just buy tix over secondary market

If you are recent grads, in this system, don’t see it unless you get a job with company seats and company parking.

Lower deck always completely season tix. 80% of upper deck is completely season tix. Only season tix available are like top 6-7 rows of stadium. Then you will have to donate at least $300-$400 annually just for the right to purchase two seats max in top six rows. You will never be upgraded with ticket location. Parking forget about it. No more free or general admission pay on gameday lots. Those days are gone. Ride your scooters, electric bikes in. Just pick a few games your friends can attend with you, get tix off secondary, and enjoy game without the other stuff unless you can write checks away at like $20000 annually.

I graduated in 2022 and have been doing the Young Alumni fund. This past year, I joined at Heisman level at a discounted rate. I wanna say I paid $2,100 total and was able to get Heisman donor status. However, they’ve upped the fees and without the discounted price this next year, I’m looking at a $2,900 total donation. I have a decent job but paying thousands of dollars a year for tickets and a decent parking pass (Lot 12) is going to take a toll. Definitely becoming something only the upper class can afford.
