Playoff System Next Year

When the new Playoff system starts next year, what is the status of the "BCS" bowls. I know many on here know but I haven't heard. It seems to me that the new prestige will be obtaining one of the four playoff spots. The old Orange, Sugar, Rose, Fiesta will be like playing in the NIT in basketball. With their propaganda, the SEC will likely get two of the spots every year. The ACC champ will get a spot only if undefeated. The old BCS bowls will mean nothing except maybe a little bigger check. If FSU continues to build a new dynasty, our future for national recognition looks tough.

If we can some how recruit bigger, better, and mean spirited O lineman, with the type of skill players we seem to find easy to get. We can be just as good and better than FSU, or any other team in the country. For instance, if we had an O line similar to OSU, we could have, with just a little luck, been in the NC picture the last couple of years, IMO!!!

This young line will bring attitude, quickness, and power in the near future. I've seen evidents of them capable of packing power and punch. That's signs of attitude.

starting to see just how legit they are and that the light at the end of the tunnel is within sight. Uncle mo and believing is half the battle =)

The playoffs will rotate in what is presently the BCS bowls.

I'm not sure if they will retain the BCS label. I'm also not sure that other bowls will be included in the rotation though I seem to remember they won't. I've focused mostly on the selection process which I've considered to be the most important part of the playoffs. My understanding is that two teams from the same conference will be invited if they are 'deemed,' by the selection committee to be better than the conference champs from the other four major conferences.
I'd say there will be much discussion in the media about this right after the MNC game this season. It might be enough to get us through the off season without the 'move to the big 12,' discussion.

6 "Major" Bowls next year

The 4 current BCS bowls plus the Peach Bowl and the Cotton Bowl. These 6 will rotate semi-final spots and the other 4 will be normal major bowl games.
