I understand, knowing what we know if his personality, that he would be saying this to cover for or make excuses for a potential loss. But when you're the President, you just can't say stuff like this, because it can actually affect the integrity of the election.
The President should be the foremost champion of our democratic processes, not a sower of discord and doubt.
Instead of making tweets like this, he should make tweets that attempt to persuade people to vote for him, if he thinks he is going to lose.

is at risk due to well-established and legal mechanisms, and that a President's re-election should be delayed.
Even if it's true that it would be good to delay the election, it's not proper that the ones who would most benefit from that should be the ones pushing it. The conflict of interest is obvious and elementary.

But that may be due to ignorance on my part. Who thinks we cannot safely vote in person? Are there places that will not be allowing in-person voting or something? I plan on doing so, and I assume the vast majority also plan on doing so.
I think mail-in voting should be offered to everyone, but I thought that before COVID, and it really has nothing to do with the virus, for me. I think it's great to make voting as easy as possible, as long as the security is ensured.

mail-in ballots. Trump's saying there's a problem with mail-in ballots, but not absentee voting. That doesn't make sense.
The distinction you're making is that you need a reason to vote by mail. The reason is the pandemic, so there is no distinction between voting by mail because you're temporarily out of state and voting by mail because you're avoiding exposure to a pandemic.

the difference is that I suppose there is some sort of process to qualify for absentee voting. So I guess you can argue that the NON SECURE method should only be used if you REALLY NEED TO. But, yes, there is no reason why widespread mail-in voting would be less secure than absentee voting, that I know of.

Delaying an election is insane. I don’t even think partisan hacks can get behind that.
With the distaste for Trump, maybe and only a long shot could there be some funny business with mail in. Maybe, slightly, unlikely. I don’t actually believe, but it’s 2020 and anything is possible
There have been some bad tweets, but I think this one Trumps them all.

Jul 30, 2020, 10:02 AM

I would think that the bigger risk, BY FAR, with mail-in voting, is that votes get lost in the mail. Not that people can vote multiple times or improperly, or something.
Therefore, the biggest risk is that people voting by mail would not have their vote counted. So, if you choose to vote by mail, you are accepting that increased risk.
For example, if, hypothetically, Democrats were to vote by mail more than Republicans, I would think that would hurt the Democrats. Am I off base?

Watch out for secondary sources like Insider.com that are more interested in getting clicks than getting it right.
Biden didn't say he "absolutely agrees" with that particular statement. I can't even find a video that shows exactly what the conversation was.
However, I will grant you that the woman (whoever she was) said that Trump was an "illegitimate president in my mind." So yes you do have one example (just it's not Biden).

Na, no President Pelosi in that case. There would be no House as all their terms expire early January. That leaves the Senate as next in line of the succession with the president pro temp of the Senate taking the office until things can be resolved.
That is were it gets interesting. Of the Senate seats not up for election this year, 35 are held by Dems and 30 by Pubs so Dems would take control of the Senate and appoint from their members who would be President until an election was held.
So, congrats President Warren?

That's awesome and exactly the sort of thing Trump trying to be clever tends to produce.
You didn't want moderate Biden as your president? That's great! Because here's Liz, and she's got some policies she'd like to enact. (Cue the heavy thunk of about a dozen books the size of the NYC phone directory hitting a table, and shrill screams of alarm from Wall Street.)
Trump pulled more or less the same result when he tried to fire one of his own donor for not towing the line quite enthusiastically enough as the US Attorney for SDNY. Instead of being able to appoint his own minion, what he ended up getting was a 72-year-old career prosecutor who was not the slightest bit interested in playing politics, and her first move was to arrest Ghislaine Maxwell when the guy Trump had just fired wouldn't. (Cue another bunch of shrill screams, also from Wall Street, but also from politicians from both sides of the aisle and from across the pond.)
It'd be an epic disaster, of course...but it'd also be glorious to watch.
