There was an obvious feeling of energy in the game when Klubnik took over the QB position. I heard this discussed yesterday and it was apparent to some that there was a different and better feeling by the players,

It seems to be a truism in ALL levels of football, that when

the starter struggles, the backup is beloved.
Now, just for the sake of suppositories, what happens if Cade gets put in the Furman game for a couple series and the offense goes 3 and out due to dropped passes, or weak offensive line play allowing him to get sacked, or at the very least having no time to throw? Do the fans turn on HIM at that point, as it was all obviously his fault?

We would most likely see fewer drops and better oline play

because Cade is more accurate, throws on time, uses his legs better when the offensive line inevitably breaks down and is a far better RPO QB.
In short, the offensive line, wide receivers, running backs and play callers all perform better when you have a mobile, accurate QB who is also a good decision maker.
As Dabo has said repeatedly this year, "the QB position is THE most important position on the field."
We've seen this movie before.

I doubt Ga. Tech still had their first string defense in the game when Cade came in.
Plus Cade came in with a bunch of Clemson bench warmers. Of course they were excited. They seldom get to play.
As long as a young man is wearing a Clemson jersey and is doing his best to lead us to victory we should cheer him on. If he struggles, I’m sure Dabo will take notice and make the necessary changes.
Those who deride our players and call them derogatory names (i.e. El Stinko) should be embarassed and ashamed of themselves. Just remember the old adage “if you can’t say something nice, keep your f***ing I’ll mannered, ignorant mouth shut”.

players, but his operation of the offense was so efficient and precise, his mechanics and accuracy so good, that it didn't matter.

First on the statement...you have to be right...more energy than Keowee...however that should not influence Dabo in picking the QB...I have been critical of DJ play last year..he was dismal at best and if he gets the job done this year then he should be Dabos starter...having said that it took him 2.5 quarters to get his game in gear after didling around last year...Cade came off the bench cold with the third and fourth string and looked like a champ...far beyond what we saw in the past out of Deshawn or Trevor...both of them looked taken by the moment! Don't think the stage was too big for Cade...his passes were spot on and he was quick as a squirrel..it will take more than what GT had to sack him! Dabo is paid a huge amount of money to make these calls...bet you he will make the right one!

You nailed what should be Cade’s nickname: The Squirrel! Dude darts around in three different directions at the same time.

I think that even if DJ had a great game up to that point, the crowd would still have been excited to see Cade come in and play.

how schematically it looked like the DW offense. Roll outs, a little option on 3rd down, 9 yard bubble screen. It was crisp and the playbook was back in full view. That's why it looked like more energy.

Definitely a different feel and look to how the offense was run.
Now, was that the GT backups? Was it the bravado of youth pulling the trigger where DJ might have hesitated on some of the passes? Don't know.
But it was a lot like when the fuel/air mixture isn't quite right when DJ was in there. The engine is running, but it's not sounding quite right. Cade came in and all of a sudden, the engine seems to roar to life.
