to hunt when you were traveling... like pick off a rabbit or something for you to eat that night.

Nowadays, I do believe they are mostly employed by airports to try to keep other birds away.

Now that I'm retired, I think that using a falcon to attack those who annoy me would be a fruitful and fulfilling hobby.
