Simultaneous reception just occured Dallas vs Jets

still remember that BC game. I thought that rule was and still is total bunk. If you have simultaneous reception it should be treated as an incomplete pass AT WORST. In no way do you award a player for a play he did not make

my first thought as well!***

Well I don't know. He did make a play it's just that

someone else did too. The intended receiver did catch the ball. So, how do you call it incomplete just because the defender puts his hands on it to. Somewhat unrelated, but I hate the jumpball rule in basketball.

He didn't technically make the play. Neither cornerback or wide receiver made the play. You can't award something to one and not the other. If you cannot do that then the only option available is incomplete pass....game on

The rule makes sense

And I'm no Cowboy fan, but as applied there it makes good sense. The receiver caught the ball. The defender did not cause an incomplete pass, and thus it was correctly applied.

The BC game was a different case altogether. Our player clearly had possession and theirs just had their hands on the ball. THAT was a horrible call.

maybe i am just torn on that rule because it was incorrectly applied our game vs. BC

Perhaps

The ruling in the BC game was absolutely incorrect as the receiver never actually had possession.

It's the "jump ball" of football and it is what it is,
