I say game's most important player is Shaw...not Boyd, & D's

Nov 26, 2013, 10:24 AM

are about even with Clowney & Beastly being the big boys to watch (with Clowney getting the edge).

If Shaw runs wild..and Boyd clams up, then Clemson will have trouble.

But, if TiGER's O can give Tajh some breathing room then the long ball to better WR's will allow a win.

Both FG kickers are excellent, but I put my $ on Cat.

What say you?! GoTiGERS..git er done bOys!

Clemson D are the most important players. They have to

stop them and give our O chances with the ball to score--something they have not been able to do.

Shaw is not better than Boyd. Boyd is the better QB but he needs the ball to operate.

I think your explanation does say Boyd is just as important. Agreed though, I hope the Shaw that was in Florida shows up

It's our LBs vs their TEs

Nov 26, 2013, 10:28 AM

We have to cover their TEs well on 3rd and long situations. We cant let Rory Anderson get open over the middle of the field like he did to help SCU beat the worst FL team of the century...

It's not just their TEs

Nov 26, 2013, 10:33 AM

It's everybody. We were decent on first and second down last year, but unforgivably bad on third. Like TNet said in that article the other day, wasn't it like 6 times or so we gave up 15+ gains on third down? We'll need tight coverage but I still don't have a lot of trust with that. I have more trust that we can disrupt Shaw in the pocket, and force him to make plays with his legs. We've been better against running QBs this year, and the run in general.

You're right. 3rd and longs last year killed us, and dropped balls we should have had.

I agree, in part...

I think the match-up that will decide the game is Clemson's D vs. Shaw. Thompson killed us last year, but Shaw killed us with his feet two years ago. Well, Shaw is back as the starter, and we have to keep him from making big plays.

Yep! I had forgotten it was DT last year, but even he made the long, drive saving plays keeping their drives alive. We must eliminate those.

in many localities there are ordinances that take a dim view of this. ;)

Don't disagree! This needs to be a LSU type effort by TB, and our OL needs to play its best game ever to thrash these wannabes.
