Show for that matter. What I have a problem with is Trump using the FCC to censor what they say. MAGA is for free speech; until they're not. If the dems had pulled the stunt that donnys boy did yesterday to silence a conservative commentator MAGA would riot. MAGA folks love to shout about the "slippery slope" any time they talk about the 2nd ammendment, but recently can't see how that applies to the 1st. There isn’t always gonna be a MAGA POTUS in the WH; don't beech about it when a dem uses the same play book to go after Fox or Newsmax.

Do you have a problem with the affiliates using their freedom to not show Kimmels show as well? Because thats seems to be a huge factor in ABCs decision making. Kimmels been bashing Trump for a decade and yet he was still allowed to broadcast. Only when he stepped over a line the affiliates couldn't tolerate did they demand he get removed. Odds are his show was hemorrhaging like Colberts (since he had similar staff numbers with even fewer viewers) otherwise ABC wouldn't have been so quick to cave.

(before Tucker), a NEWS network, for the nonsense he was propagating about Obama not being born in the US...with years worth of whiny tweets from Trump about comedians? BTW, did Obama ever weaponize the FCC against FOX for the things Hannity said? Probably not, since the FCC was an independent agency back then, and not a strongarm of the Executive.

We all know that Reagan took great pleasure in taking jabs at political opposition. I would be surprised if he didn't take the occasional jab at a tv personality that was critical of him (thought I don't have any specific examples...just seems on brand). But it would just be a totally different tone. Good humor, non-threatening.
I really can't think of a good analogy in the United States of a POTUS that so overtly attacks anyone...literally anyone that is critical of him. And brings a significant influence of the force of his office with him. It is really difficult to come up with an analogy for someone above school age.
Embarrassing is the word I keep coming back to. I wouldn't let my kids behave this way.

It is indeed a slippery slope we are on currently. The government is now actively targeting Networks for content or perceived content. DJT actually said he was going after ABC head because the network treats him badly, really?Also said he wants NBC to cancel Fallon/Meyers. Also said he was not done with The View too.
It is simple, change the channel if you do not like it. If ratings decline it goes away, it is just that easy. Now it is different if they are promoting violence but I have not seen that from Colbert/Kimmel/Fallon/Meyers. Not even from The View, yes they are dumb as a box of rocks and at times as crazy as a bag of cats.
DJT is butt hurt over them using him as a comedic trope.

Do you need more explanation or detail to understand that Jones was absolutely guilty of these things, and Kimmel not even close to these things? Maybe some sentence diagramming, or proof of the real life harm that Jones caused to Sandy Hook parents who lost their children?
