Future OOC games

Jan 8, 2013, 4:20 PM

It's been great scheduling Auburn and UGAy the last few/next couple of years and I think, given the (perceived or not) weakness of the ACC, we need to continue to schedule a BIG OOC opponent every year to compliment the Coots. E.g. Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Bama, UGAy, etc.

Obviously, there are numerous factors that go into scheduling big games and teams but I think if you want to make it happen it can.

We may lose a few but I think it will only strengthen the program in the long run.

Our 2015 and on OOC schedules are still TBD--anyone heard of who we may play?

For creampuffs, we need to schedule the lower half SEC teams***

But ESPN told me that the lower-half SEC teams were

better than anyone who wins the other conferences so that would count too

With the playoff system and SoS being a factor

I'd think that other big teams would buy into this.

major conferences. Strength Of Schedule, not conference championship, will determine the playoff participants starting in 2014. We will be at a disadvantage due to the weakness of the ACC. We played two Top 20 teams during the regular season. SCar, for example, played 5. Wherever possible, we need to schedule teams from major conferences rather than mid-major or FCS schools. Another benefit of doing this, would be to help our recruiting. We know that SEC schools are touting their conference strength while using the ACC against us.
