The kids so likeable and unselfish, he has an incredible team spirit and love for his teammates. By all indicators he is one of the biggest representatives of the ALL IN family motto that I have ever seen...the kid is exactly what Dabo envisions his players being from a stand point of team first, hard working player...I completely understand why he loved this kid so much...he just wasn't the right man for the job and Dabo did what hc at this level can not do and that's let his like of 1 player hurt the other 100 players on the team...
It's one of the very few mistakes Dabo has made in his time here...Dabo will learn from it...
I'll still take Dabo over any coach in America...
And I pray DJ goes to Ucla or wherever and tears it up....I really like this kid and wish him the absolute best...

He’s not a QB, maybe that was the problem from the beginning. Great guy, great athlete, terrible D1 QB. I can see him being an all world TE though.

He is a fine young man by all accounts. It just didn’t work out for him here at Clemson. I hope he has better luck wherever he goes

Totally agree….it was not his fault he started got 2 whole years……coaches monked this one up and totally on them……period!

Well, if you listened to Dabo on acc interview, he explains it the way only Dabo can. The only mistake I think he and Brandon made was not getting cade in game reps all year. There were more opportunities... May have been a few closer games. The only real mistake was not bringing cade in last week after the pick. Start of 4th qtr.

I think the sums it up.
I know I was pulling hard for DJ, but it was clear 3 games in that there was very little improvement. He ran the ball better, but passing was extremely inconsistent and bad.

…the character of this young man.
He said something to the effect that he knew how important it was to play his very best every game for Clemson, because he didn’t know if there was a Clemson fan in the stands that was watching him for either the FIRST time or the LAST time. He just knew that he had to play his very best for Clemson.
This response from DJ really won me over for this young man. He is high character person that you want playing QB for the Clemson Tigers. I really respect DJ, and I declared that I would follow him to the gates of h311.
I just didn’t think I would have to follow him into Dante’s Inferno. That is where I sort of drew the line.
However, DJ is a great guy, but he was not a good fit for this Clemson offense. How CDS missed this is beyond me.
I TRULY felt quite bad for BOTH DJ & Cade, as I feel that BOTH of them have been served an injustice in how they were coached this year.

Wishing DJU luck as well, by all we've heard he is a really good guy and a great leader.
But to say that Dabo cost 100 players their season because he was coddling DJU is just wrong.
Do you really think that we would have gone undefeated in ACC play had Cade been our starter all year?
Do you really think that the coaches don't know what they had seen through spring, summer, and the first 2/3 of the season when DJU started and Cade was on the bench?
The arrival of Cade is terrific for us. I'm thrilled.
But if you think that you know more than Dabo (when Dabo says that we would have not won the ACC Atlantic without DJU as our QB)?
Dabo has made mistakes, but his starting of DJU throughout most of the season was not one of them.
Let's stick with celebrating Cade's great game and arrival, and to being respectful to DJU and Dabo.
