In today's snowflake news

"The body-slamming? Ah, yeah, it just seems a little too good to be true to me," said Chandler Ortman, who works in the restaurant industry in Bozeman and voted for Gianforte. "I guess I'm just gonna say he's innocent until proven guilty."
James Baker, a lobbyist in Bozeman who also voted for Gianforte, said, "Sometimes I think a lot of reporters get aggressive, and after the heat of a long campaign people can lose tempers."
Debbie Warriner of Kalispell called the reports "a crock of baloney."
"I mean, that story — it's possible it's not even true," she told Montana Public Radio.

Hmmm...seems a bit of a stretch...but moving on...

Honestly, I don't know what happened in Montana and I'm just not that concerned about it. Is the guy a mad man? Maybe. Was he pushed too far? Maybe. I'm all for civility in everything we do in life, but I don't get too worked up if someone crosses the line and their target reacts. Again, I know nothing about the Montana incident...just not on my radar screen.
I will say, however, that the reactions you quoted (I didn't go to the story) don't surprise me in the least. The media has been bombarded with accusations of liberal bias for a long time. Their reaction, in general, has been to dismiss the critics as anything from conservative operatives to ignorant rubes. Never (again, in general) was the reaction one of self-inspection. Fast forward to today, and the media cannot wait to validate these critics. If you read some of the most widely-read or watched new publications (CNN, Washington Post, New York Times, all major networks) and come away with any impression other than an all-out war against Trump, you are deluded in my opinion. And hey...I hate the guy too. But I don't pretend that I'm trying to objectively report the news.
So, when you read those comments from those people, and you think "what a bunch of rubes", that's probably what the "journalistic" industry also thinks. But they reap what they sow. Too many skewed reports, too many times showing that they have picked a team. They have lost credibility, and this is the result.

Here would agree with the conservatives that the behavior of many college students has crossed the line. The term "snowflakes" is a fantastic description for kids who demand safe-spaces, days without white people, limited free speech to what they agree with, etc etc etc. why anyone would want to dilute the term is beyond me. Unless they think that these college kids are in the right.

As I understand it, it doesn't apply to ever over-reacting person. So, someone who say, makes a documentary in 2006 that claims the ice caps will be gone in 2015 isn't a snowflake. Nor is everyone who claimed that HB-2 would result in public execution of transgender citizens in North Carolina. The term had (to me, and I might be wrong) a very specific application that I thought had merit.
Just words, but again, the knee jerk attempt to diminish its current definition has been a misguided effort. In general I think most adults are in agreement on this.

Using it in reference to Christians claiming persecution by a coffee cup seems like an acceptable application.
Look man there's a lot of dumb liberals. There's a shitload of dumb conservatives. There's a ton of dumb people.

actually benagline, the term snow flakes traditionally refers to whites who were against the abolition of slavery. It later referred to whites would cry bloody murder when expected to give the most modest expression of basic human decency with regard to advancements in civil rights.
It was in fact, conservatives that altered the meaning in 2012. As they often do, projecting their faults onto others in the most Karl Rovian manner. It is a game your party invented and continues to use this day. -see every thing trump has ever accused others of.

Read a book will ya?
"Snowflake
Referring to someone, usually the Alt-Right, Yiannopoulos, And Nazi Sympathizers (A.K.A. ARYANS), whose immense white fragility causes a meltdown when confronted with the most minute deviation from orthodox White Supremacy. They often cry bloody murder when expected to give the most modest expression of basic human decency.
This is all a continuation of how Snowflake historically refers to people who are against the abolition of slavery.
The ARYANS have attempted to hijack this term to use against progressives and those opposing Fascism. It failed ultimately, because nobody was foolish enough to believe anti-Fascist resisters to be, by any stretch of the imagination, comparable to the snowflakery of the ARYANs and their cheeto-dusted Fuhrer."

Some people need to man up. That reporter sounded like he needed some physical correction.
Any man who sounds like the social services worker from King of The Hill needs to change their whole approach to being a dude.

I doubt I would have fought back due to the fact that it was a Congressman or whatever he is who slammed him. The reporter did come across like a wuss though.
