Anyone think college football needs to implement a draft

type of concept to try and get more parity back? I remember back in the Tommy Bowden days, Tommy used to preach about parity at his press conferences and 50% of the teams losing, etc.
Now, you've got Clemson/Bama and everyone else. It's pretty boring, honestly. Clemson and Bama beat the snot out of everyone. Attendance is down. Everyone leaves at halftime because we're winning by 20 points. Remember how awesome that Miami game was 2005? We lost, but it was exciting because we ALMOST beat Miami. Now, we beat SCar by 21 points and it feels like we lost.
The rich are getting richer and parity is no more. Maybe somehow cap it where a school can only get one 5 star recruit. Then, we will see how well these coaching staffs can really coach. Think how boring it has to be for Dabo. Instead of coaching a guy up like Cullen Harper, you bring in guys like Watson and Lawrence and just let them do they thang. Where's the challenge?
Just throwing that thought out there.

Instead of Student athletes deciding which institution they want to get an education from in their desired major, it chooses you. I bet the NCAA goes for this.

I think the concept would be more along the lines of...
"Sorry, Clemson has fulfilled the max number of 4 stars. You can't commit here."
Then, the issue would become High School Coaches "sandbagging" star players to try and get them down to 3 star status.
It's a tricky proposition, but if any organization can implement such a system, the NCAA would be the perfect one to do it.

NO. Kids getting sent to schools and coaches they don't want to play for or kids that want to play closer to home. Like oh my son was going to play for Clemson but Old Dominion selected him!

Let's see. You just got drafted to attend the University of Montana. How do you feel about that? It doesn't have the major you'd like to study in and your family will never see you play. You hate the cold. In addition, the coach is a real jerk.
Does it seem like a good idea now?

Just limit a school to 60 stars per year

Or something like that. If a school can afford to put 30+ 2-stars on schollie each year, more power to them!

no.
my recollection is that the NCAA created a scholly limit if 85 to create greater parity and I'd say it has worked pretty well for its purposes. we are in rare air right now, but in looking g across the entire football landscape it seems there is more competition than there was in years past. that we and Bama are enjoying such success in recruiting is. for us, a pleasant outlier. take out Bama and Clemson and i think one will see the next level is pretty competitive

I would like to see schools required to commit to the athlete for more than 1 year. Coaches should not be able to pull a kid's scholarship because he is not producing on the field, thereby turning the kid's world upside down. A kid has to sit out a year if they transfer without cause. Shouldn't the school loose that scholarship for at least a year if they pull it. The 85 scholarship rule is a joke for Georgia and Alabama who will just make room if they feel a recruit would benefit them more than an existing player. I think this would create more parity for every team not named Clemson. Coach Swinney already considers a Clemson scholarship as a commitment to and BY the school. Doing what is right would actually extend our dominance.

Yea, good idea. And every spring the USA should have a job draft. Some of us would get good jobs and others bad jobs, but we would have parity.
