You think Lakip's suspension will be worse than Sammy's

considering he was also hit with DUI? Obviously, the biggest question that only Dabo knows is his prior history. Have there been other instances?
I'd probably expect a 3 or 4 game suspension if his behavior has been perfect until this point.

Sammy wasn't driving drunk. That is serious business and

I'm guessing Dabo is not pleased. He could have killed himself or someone else. He's gone for good.

blow the breathalyzer which would have made the DUI a slam dunk, but he did submit to the field sobriety test, which could be problematic, but again an attorney can sometimes rip holes in that. So, it's very possible that he could beat that charge. On the other hand, my guess is that the cocaine possession charge will probably stick. Either way, I expect Dabo to deal with this pretty strongly as I think the coke will be viewed a little more seriously (rightly or wrongly) than weed, and if the DUI sticks, he could be gone. Plus, weren't there rumors a few years back about Lakip leaving the team? I can't remember details but that could play a role as well in Dabo's decision.

Didn't Lakip leave the program after his freshman year?

I remember hearing that it was drug related. Of course I have no proof, just that who I heard it from is close to Swinney.

pretty sure it was girl related. he was just in a bad place, whatever that is. this is 1st offense, albeit a pretty good 1st offense. there are probably hundreds of kids over the years that have failed drug tests that we will never know about it. most places you get more than one strike. would not surprise me if he is back or kicked off. dabo has a pretty good handle on these kids.

Much worse

A DUI might be enough to kick him off the team on its own. That combined with possession of cocaine might be enough to not allow him to come back. While it was a misdemeanor amount, cocaine carries a worse perception than marijuana and implies more of an addiction than casual use. Sammy got busted for a misdemeanor amount of marijuana after a traffic stop. There was no DUI in his case and while a drug is a drug is a drug is a drug, I think people look at marijuana as not nearly as serious an offense.

Bingo. Cocaine isn't legal in several states like weed for a reason. SMH at being able to sit at a bar getting tanked legally but can't puff on Mary Jane? Sammy's issue wasn't even comparable.

far worse than what Sammy did. It will be more than Sammy received, but I don't see him getting kicked off the team.

I am a firm believer in second chances but I feel that the punishment should be severe if not suspended for the entire year to show this is nit how we do things at clemson.
I realize that Lakip is starting kicker and may hurt us during the season but Clemson values come first!
