If he wants to improve his draft stock, then uscjr is not the place to do that. He is the 2nd most sacked QB in the power conferences which says a lot for someone with his scrambling ability. His passing ability is not good but it would be better if he had an OL blocking fir him and there is no indication it will be better next year.

I would not be shocked if he is in a position to make more money transferring than getting drafted. This is going to start becoming more common. One day the NFL is going to wake up and realize they have a problem called college football and it is eating into their business model.

Especially when college football stops being associated with the school aspect. Players will be able to play entire careers within the “college team paradigm”

with the school, how many years of eligibility does a player have? Could a player who isn't good enough for the NFL just keep playing at this level indefinitely?

I'm not sure that is a bad thing though?
Another year developing skills. Another year (hopefully) finishing undergrad or maybe working on masters. Another year before entering real adult life. Another year with more talent in the CFP pool. Another year to put together highlight real material to appeal to scouts.
Seems like a win win for most people involved. There's no telling how many kids went into the league early because of their home life needing them to get paid now that would have benefited another year developing their skills or getting that degree.

has been good for the league. Guys like Nix who played a lot of college ball are more prepared and able to handle the jump better. Plus if a guy comes in at 25 that’s at least one less contract in his career which means long term teams are paying less money for more capable talent.

My personal take on this craziness is this: If these professional college age athletes want to be treated like professionals, then, they should be treated like professionals. Trade them around teams just as a baseball team would. If one school takes a player from another school, then, the losing school should be compensated. Let the powers at each school sit down at a table and come to a deal on a trade. It is not fair to the losing school to suffer the loss of a player, the cost of his training, housing and feeding with nothing in compensation. Let the losing school perhaps demand 2 DL and 30 million for the loss. If the receiving school does not like the deal, then, they are free to go to a compass school like North West Central Idaho State for their transfer QB. Otherwise, roster tampering should be forbidden by the NCAA.

It should be a contractual relationship, just like the NFL. This would have to be between the player and the football program and separate from NIL. Both sides should have obligations and ramifications if they aren’t met.
I’ve wondered about whether or not a program can kick a player who doesn’t work out off the team but continue to pay for his education. This would free up a space for a transfer to come in but meet whatever obligation the program has to the player. It would probably be a mute point as most would leave.

His dad said after last season, they didn’t come to college for a paycheck and he chose Carolina. If he turned down $8 Million (from what I heard) to transfer to Auburn; I doubt he leaves after this season unless it’s to enter the draft.

Why would Miami spend that $ on a QB

who needs more training? They would want a proven QB like Cam Ward or Beck. It makes sense sellers would want to go there, but I doubt miami would fork out much.
