Board of Regents have a special called meeting, executive meeting (public not allowed), on May 30 and 31. official purpose for the meeting, both days, is "personnel matter - treasurer."
The rumor mill is convinced that is a smokescreen. "It only takes 20 minutes for the board to rubber stamp the recommendation of the president. They don't need two days."
The rumor mill is fully convinced that there is something magical about the date of June 1. They are saying that will be the day that Colorado announces they are leaving the PAC 12 and joining the Big 12.

I despise the SEC, and have no desire to routinely play a bunch of away games in either Minn, Wisconsin, or Mich. And I will never again step foot in the state of Illinois as long as I live.
The ACC should have merged with the Big XII anyway.

Yep. Missed a big opportunity and the Big 12 jumped way too fast and made the desperate move of bringing in those 3 Group of 5 schools.

From what I've been told a football weekend at Wisconsin is not to be missed....in spite of the weather. Michigan, Illinois, Indiana...MEH. Ohio St.-> might as well be Georgia. Northwestern...yawn.

I am surprised by how often I read here people wanting to join the Big 12. I have lived in San Antonio since I was in middle school and none of the schools left in the conference have much of a following in Texas. With UT and OU on the way out, i believe the Big 12 with slowly wither away. What is the most intriguing matchup now? TCU v. Baylor? Tiny schools with minuscule followings. The wont have the spotlight games against UT and OU to bolster their ratings and get people interested. Ok St is in the same position. Its like the ACC without FSU and Clemson. What is there to get excited about? This is just my opinion.
