Dabo is at a BIG crossroads this year.

Sep 25, 2021, 4:43 PM

Will he remain loyal (to a fault) to his staff or will he make the necessary hard decisions to keep this program moving forward?
We have sat through the Hatfield, West, and Bowden years and seen frustrating product out on the field. This is not only the worst offense I have ever seen at this program but one of the worst offenses I have ever seen in the Power 5. The defense can't keep carrying the mail every week.
A change MUST be made at this point or the Clemson dynasty as we now it is sadly going to come to a close.

If Dabo is as heavily involved in the play calling as we have heard

then I’m not sure he sees the problem.

In other words, he would be part of the problem.

I think he always has been since Chad left. Think about it. He hires two understudies to Morris. Do we really think he just let them go and said it’s all you. I say no. I believe it’s always been OC by community. Now they’ve run out of ideas and haven’t stayed innovative.

Bingo. This exactly.

Dabo won’t make the changes because he’s the main problem. This is his offense, not Tony’s.

Until Dabo realizes his offense sucks and brings someone in to completely overhaul it, we are going to see terrible offense.

I have no clue why he ever got so heavily involved in the offense. If he had the answers he wouldn’t have had to hire Chad Morris to come and bring this offense. He sucked calling plays in 2008 and sucks at calling them now. He’s a great recruiter and motivator, but he’s not a good schematic coach. Period.

Why don’t we Fire the whole #### staff after a decade of Elite play. Some of you sound like the biggest bunch of whiners because we are having a tuff start. You would be willing to throw the Tigers under the bus because of one off year.

Some of you fans amaze me. One minute you are on the bus the next minute you want to burn the bus up and get rid of the best coaches in the programs history.

How quickly some of you forget what this staff has accomplished !

We have a multi million dollar OC

Sep 25, 2021, 5:12 PM

That has somewhere in the 100th ranked offense currently. I'm as big a sunshine pumper as anybody but I don't see how anyone can defend this offensive staff.

It’s hard to replace a once in a generation QB, a record RB and mature talented WR group all at once. All the negative comments and attitude from the fans will only hurt the future of the program and recruiting.

We have become spoiled fans! I am not a sunshine pumper but I am a loyal fan who will support the Tigers win or lose. I am not going to through anyone under the bus. It’s not like they are trying to lose. Several ACC teams have gotten much better this year.

We always seem to have match up problems with NC State.

Try to find something positive out of today’s game. And remember it’s just a GAME!

You don't think we should play up to the Standard?

Tony Elliott sux balls. 100% he is not elite at the level of his salary.

I agree we've had a lot of turnover on offense but the problem is, we recruit better than 99.9% of teams out there. There is absolutely no reason we should be this bad. I mean we're borderline inept with analyst, coaches and former players alike literally laughing at how bad of a scheme we have. To me, what this year says is that the majority of the success we had last year was just because of immense talent and experience. We don't have an offensive staff that can get the best out of the players it has and that's a huge problem.

I mean to go further, Brent Venables is showing how it's done on defense. Year in, year out, his units preform. Doesn't matter the talent, he gets the best out of them. So when a year comes along like this year where we have unreal talent, we're arguably the #1 defense in the nation. This offensive staff needs a Brent Venables and FAST.

You're an idiot.

We have the 114th ranked offense, with the 3rd most talented roster in CFB. Do you seriously not see the problem?

One off year? If we continue to play this bad it will be the worst offense we’ve had in I don’t know when. In order to keep up we have to make changes in this type of year. You don’t just give it another year. That’s when programs sink into a TX, USC, FSU etc…

Sep 25, 2021, 5:24 PM [ in reply to Re: Dabo is at a BIG crossroads this year. ]

Maybe some of us are comfortable enough with what we got going on in our lives AWAY from Clemson football to be honest in our assessment. Maybe we're NOT terrified to think for ourselves and have enough experience to be able to "call it like we see it". What we SEE is coaching staff full of buddies and friends that amount to little more than "yes" men for Dabo. Especially on Offense. A staff that is collectively entitled and likely a little lazy, afraid to stand up to Dabo and tell him what's REALLY up and also slightly blinded by nepotism.

And unless you're holding 8 tickets like I have for the last 23 years - even when I lived on the West Coast AND you traveled to National Championships games, I HIGHLY doubt you are in a position to call into question my loyalty.
