Miami all win out. Through the convoluted tie breaker mess, Miami and SMU play in the ACCCG. Would think we still make playoffs because we'll be ranked somewhere between 5-10. Surprised the tiebreaker wouldn't just be highest ranked teams, which would leave SMU out.

I would not complain about this scenario necessarily. You avoid having to play that last game that would eliminate our Tigers with a loss. I think IF we win out with a lone loss to UGA in the first game of the season we are in.

Agree - definitely in at 11-1 even if left out of the ACCCG

However, the UCS game becomes a playoff game for us if it looks like we’re getting left out on the 3 way tie. Slip up against the Coots like 2 years ago and then we’re 10-2,8-0 but if we lose 8-0 tiebreaker to Miami and SMU there would be no chance at playoff. Whereas if we are in the ACCCG at 8-0 we could lose to the Citadel and the Coots and still have a shot at CFP and a 3-4 seed.

South Carolina will be ranked by the time we play them. If we beat them we will make it to the ACC Championship. Miami and SMU don’t play a ranked team other than SMU and Clemson play PIT. We must win against SC this year.

The SC game has no bearing on the ACC race. Why would they figure in non con games into the ACC race. Am I right or wrong?

The wording of the tiebreaker rules is somewhat ambiguous (like everything else the ACC does), but I don’t think OOC games count. The rules for a 2-way or 3-way tie focus on conference results only.
