How long do you think Coots keep Muschamp?

Sep 26, 2016, 12:57 AM

I am just curious how long people think the coots will keep Muschamp. He is coming in after their most sucessful coach in history (who quit in the middle of the season) and was only hired because no good coach would take the job and Spurrier talked their AD into it because they were friends and he tries to help out anyone from UF.

I am fine if we beat the Coots 15 times straight. However, how does S. Carolina not see that their idle cares nothing about S. Carolina and is spending all his time at UF. Didn't they build a trophy of Spurrier in Columbia?

Anyway, how many years do you give him? I personally think he will be gone after the end of the 2017 season. I think he will improve their defense but he has had issues talking trash about other teams, getting chippy with reporters and other coaches, and USucK is his third school in three years.

Also, why would someone like Tom Herman from Houston come to South Carolina? He knows he will be first on the list for any blood blood school looking for a new head coach if he does not get Houston moved into the Big 12.

I honestly feel like it's more so about how long before he can get a better offer. He's actually recruiting well and I feel like he's repairing his resume for another opportunity. His current job isn't even the dream job for a graduate of the school.

I just don't see consistent Top 25 school hiring Muschamp as HC. He really has burned bridges most placess his has been at lately. I don't think he is anything more than a DC. Of course some school maybe pay him more to be their DC than SC pays him as head coach.

You may be right, but he has a stepping stone kind of job right now. If he can recruit well, he'll turn a terrible job into a decent (at best) job and I feel he'd get a shot. But honestly, I hope they stay right where they are right now

If they ever do an Andy Griffin (REDUX) Series/Show. Muschamp will get the part of OTIS based on his screening hands down!!! Look at him - He looks worse than Stephon Orr Spurrier after downing a Coors Light Aluminum 18 pack by himself! Cue the Vintage Dancing Video now!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Ha!

Who else would they get....

Sep 26, 2016, 1:10 AM

CussChamp was their 6th choice when they hired him. Everyone else turned them down. CussChamp was literally begging for the job because he knew Auburn was about to can him.

Bingo! No one wants that dead end job.***

Remember mediocrity at Sakerlina is success

Sep 26, 2016, 1:27 AM

If mushchump can reel of an average of 7 wins a year, he will stay for a while. IMO, the best thing they could have hoped for was Charpie Strong to get canned at Texas and get him in. Herman is not leaving Houston except for a year in year top 15 program where he is able to draw top talent and get paid. There will be much better offers before and after mushchump departs columbiastan.

The Sakerlina faithful shiuld be kicking themselves. If they had dine the right thing, either Charlie Strong or Skip Holtz should have been their hire. They'd be soooo much better off right now.

I agree with clemson man7 here.

Sep 26, 2016, 1:46 AM

The coots know just how bad things can get now. They had forgotten what it was like to sit at the bottom of the SEC and had gotten used to their meteoric rise to mediocrity. They had forgotten what it felt like to only look forward to one game a season and what it felt like to deal with the ultimate disappointment when they lost to their rival almost every year.

But they have been reminded the last couple years. They now remember that empty feeling that they felt for years. Like a warm blanket, they have copied up to that familiar feeling of being a loser. They have no real expectations and they don't plan to have success any time soon. Yes there are a few delusional fans who think that Muschump has what it takes. But their smart fans know, that they suck again.

In all seriousness though, I do believe that Muschamp will eventually get them to playing decent defense. They won't be able to score any points on offense but their defense will be decent within the next few years. Good news for Tiger fans is we still win the rivalry game. Instead of 63 -17 it will only be 35 - 0.

Go Tigers!

This is irrelevant

Sep 26, 2016, 3:30 AM

why would anyone even bring attention to the gamecocks when we are only focused on Clemson.

Re: This is irrelevant

Sep 26, 2016, 3:37 AM

Because the next best thing to Clemson winning is watching the shamecocks lose!

What on this green earth makes anyone think that WM is going to start winning 7 games a year? I see 3-4 wins this year if he can beat Western Carolina. He's going to get his butt handed to him each year by CLEMSON. NO - he will be gone by the end of 2017. He sucks at HC, and isn't much better at DC IMO. He will keep failing until even the dumbest schools realize that he can't coach, and then NOBODY will hire him.

Let's all hope USUC keeps him around. He will lose 7-in-a-row this year, starting last week. Even UMass is going to beat him.
