Importance of the ND matcup

I think this is Dabo's chance to prove that "Clemson is still Clemson". Last year ND struggled but handled us at home and have struggled this year but handled USC at home. It proved that they are still a great program, can beat anyone (which Dabo has often referred to), can reaffirm home field advantage, and finally give us fans something to cheer about.

I think Clemson could beat Notre Dame and it really wouldn't move the needle for the national perspective of Clemson right now. Damage has already been done this season. The tigers best hope would be to run the table and beat a good team in a bowl game (fingers crossed).
I agree with you that it would push the momentum in the correct direction, but no one outside of Clemson and ND would give the tigers much credit.
One thing I think we can all agree on for the rest of the season is the one thing that absolutely CANNOT happen is losing to the chickens for the second year in a row, especially with how bad they have been playing.

That sounds hopeless. If we stop the stupid fumbles alone, we have a much better chance in every game this year, and it could easily make the difference between a close win and a close loss. Otherwise, it is clear we are not the same program we were a few years ago with the players that we have and the coaches that we have. Just the same, we are not at a terrible baseline from which to build it back up.
