If 4 or 5 high qualify Transfer will hurt the Culture at Clemson

Was it ever really that strong to begin with? That culture argument against using the portal is not adding up to me. If Clemson culture is as strong as I think it is, it would cause the transfers to join and participate in it....I think our culture molding a player is a lot more likely than a player hurting our culture

The portal issue is all about the NIL money, which is the cultural problem. Not only is it aq bidding war, but even the scouts will want their share and Clemson does not have the money in the collectives to win. Look at Ohio State, they are losing the bidding wars on the portals and publicly complained that their ~$1M offer could not compete with UGA and Bama. Let's focus on the coaches/coaching to make our players better. TEAM play is >> than I team in the long run.

IMO, Dabo has a double standard

He didn't want to disturb the culture by playing Klubnik instead of DJ and doesn't want highly recruited players sitting on the bench watching portal players play, but he doesn't mind them sitting there watching his sons play over them.

How many highly recruited players sat while Will Swinney played? Until injuries forced otherwise for he bowl game last year, Will was a holder for kicks and a mop up guy on offense. Admittedly Drew Swinney got more run this year with the offense than I expected, but keep in mind, Beaux was injured most of the year, D Collins quit in September, Stellato was out the whole year with a knee, and EJ and Ngata were dinged up all year. So that left A Williams, Spector (arguably not more than a walkon), Randall (coming back from significant knee injury), Taylor (still not 100% after his injury) and Turner (redshirting) as the only scholarship players that were healthy/available for the majority of the games.
That's why I was so surprised at the hate I got on here when I asked if we were going to have walkons starting for us in the Orange Bowl since the thought process was that Ngata was Ngone too.
Hopefully Ngata comes back, Randall gets 100% and Turner puts on about 35 lbs in the offseason.

It seems a reasonable person would notice that..

the cultural fit is one of many things to checkoff on the list of reasons to sign a prospective transfer. Imo, only those with an agenda would consider cultural fit to be the reason Clemson hasn't used the portal more.
There's position, depth, experience, talent and skill development to consider along with perhaps several other factors on pursuing a player from the portal. I would think myself quite full of myself to think I had the information, ability and skills required to made such decisions.
I think most of those criticizing Dabo's seeming reluctance to load this team with transfers from the portal are simply window shopping and making purchases standing outside the store with no way to tell if what they are looking at through the window will fit them.
We need an adult in the room.

1988 who is saying Dabo should load the team with portal players?

I think most just want to see him dip in every now and then to fill needs, needs from other players leaving, needs from players not working out. Like recently on the offensive line, or at WR. Maybe a D-back or two. I'd never want the entire program build on transfers.
