I'd argue it would be tougher to be a fan of one of large group of teams who know that they won't have a chance, no matter what, to win a NC in any year.

Everyone just takes it personally like it's some sort of attack on our fanbase challenging us all to change to another team.
Anyone who feels the need to defend their fan-hood must already be on the fence.

They won all of the BIG games last year( FSU, Auburn, WF- to get to the ACCCG, and VT twice) other than USC and WV. How many teams win all of their games? How many have never had a NC or 14+ conference titles? It has been painful for the past 20 years since 91, but things are looking way up! Too many other teams I would put ahead in that category. I do admit it being painful at times, but I would not trade with many teams out there. And if you did, the rewards would never feel right because they would be hollow. Clemson forever!

...it's what binds a person to a team that counts for something also. I didn't graduate from Clemson, but my dad did, and that's a tie that *can't* be broken no matter what ever happens on the field. I might one day decide to get a Master's in history, and if I do, I'm going to make the right decision this time and get it from Clemson!

Same here. My granddad, dad, uncle, aunt and cousin all graduated from there. I went to my first game when I was 9 months old... It's something that you can't be broken even if I didn't finish my studies there. It's family tradition.

He obviously has no clue what it means to love more than just your football team.If you graduated or have a history with Clemson you love it no matter what. It's not hard to pull for something you love. Hey KH is it hard for you to pull for your kids if they ever perform less than their best! Give me a break!

I think this just shows how much he's been burned in the past when he jumps on the Tigers bandwagon - and he's done that a lot. You've got to admit we have had some head scratchers just when we're looking really good and expectations rise. He'll come back around when we run the table this year.

with what everyone else has said. It's a no-brainer for me. I proudly cheer for my Tigers and can't imagine how tough it would be to lose every game for a stretch in the modern era... or to be enjoying the most successful period in history without much to show for it.

if he had said something about the most disappointed fans, Clemson would be up there. We get our hearts broken by some team every year that we should handle. That's where the "PAC" - Pulling another Clemson - comes from. Hopefully, this year we take care of business and win ALL of our games.

Being a Clemson fan has so much more to it then tcheering for the FB team. Clemson is a college that becomes a second family to you. No matter what else you do in your life that atmosphere and the hills work within you and you will always smile at someone wearing the orange and purple becuase even if you never saw them before they are part of your family.
I LOVE CLEMSON FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

Everyday actually as I learn to better my future for the security of my family. There are many tough decisions and things to learn while everyday trying to be the best husband and father that I can be. But NEVER has it been a tough decison to love my Clemson Tigers and to raise my children to pull for the best team in the world. Clemson is a huge part of my life and one that I know I can always count on. GO TIGERS!!!!!! From now until the grave, and even beyond then.

These post are exactly why I am a clemson fan. I did not get a degree from clemson and I know alot of people on here hold that against me. Every day I regret that I screwed that up but thats on me. My God Father brought me to Clemson in 79 when I was 8 and as much as I hate to say it I was a shamecock fan .I came home to columbia wearing an orange clemson cowboy hat with a block C on it(some old timers will know exactly waht Im talking about) and it was all she wrote; I was hooked. Ive lived in columbia my whole life (now on Lake Murray) and have taken my share of crap from the ##### but have NEVER been ashamed to wear my orange and say hello to a fellow clemson famly member. I have been an ITAY member since I was 11 and will be as long as the good lord allows me to. I LOVE CLEMSON AND ALWAYS WILL!!!
GO TIGRS

I agree. It's an emotional roller coaster ride for me. Whenever we're losing, I just end up telling the tv what dabo should do and if I know the game is over because I can't bear to watch my team lose.
